It is with both sadness and expectation that we share the news that season 5 of Fixer Upper will be our last. While we are confident that this is the right choice for us, it has for sure not been an easy one to come to terms with. Our family has grown up alongside yours, and we have felt you rooting us on from the other side of the screen. How bittersweet to say goodbye to the very thing that introduced us all in the first place.
This has been an amazing adventure! We have poured our blood, sweat and tears into this show. We would be foolish to think we can go and go and fire on all cylinders and never stop to pause. Our family is healthy and our marriage has honestly never been stronger. This has nothing to do with a fraudulent skincare line or anything else you’ll inevitably read. This is just us recognizing that we need to catch our breath for a moment. Our plan is to take this time to shore up and strengthen the spots that are weak, rest the places that are tired and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses.
We are really, really proud of season 5. We laid it all on the field and didn’t hold anything back. We think it’s the perfect finale to this amazing journey we’ve been on. Season 5 begins in November and Behind the Design will follow shortly after. There’s so much good, new stuff coming your way!
Though our Fixer Upper chapter is coming to a close, we aren’t done with Waco. We aren’t done renovating homes. We aren’t done designing things to make your home your favorite place on earth. We aren’t done working towards restoration in all things or helping out those who could use a hand. In fact, in all of these things, we are just getting started.
Who knows what the future holds, but we’re excited for whatever is around the bend and in the meantime, we will definitely be staying in touch.
We will forever be thankful for HGTV and this opportunity of a lifetime. We are also thankful to our production company, Highnoon Entertainment and our amazing producers and crew on the ground here in Waco. We are grateful for them and for you. Thank you for sharing life with us and for the continued support. Thank you for having our backs! Thank you for caring about these homes and these families and the things that we care so much about.
Really, from the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Chip and Jo”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Fixer Upper? Are you sad it’s ending?
It would be nice if this vacancy made room for a Gardening show – something HGTV used to offer. At this point, they have forgotten the “G.”
I love this show and truly miss it. I wish Chip and Jo and their lovely family happiness and success. I really hope they decide to do a special show once in a while. Just to keep their fans happy and up dated. All the best to Chip and Jo and may God Bless them and their family.
I absolutely love this show and the reruns!!! The love an respecr between them jumps off the screen. Goodbye Clint and Jimmy Don, too! I hate it has come to an end, but hopefully the next phase of their lives will be better than this one. God bless the two of you and your family!!
It has been great to watch your show. To see you two work and have fun at the same time. To see how your kids have grown. I along with your many fans are sadden and will miss seeing you two every week. Maybe keep your devoted fans updated once in awhile? Good luck and may your blessings be abundant.
Good! They ran this into the ground playing it over & over ad nauseum.
Rose–change the channel if you do not like a show—that is what a remote is for! The general public must have liked the show, it had a good run–I hope it continues—loved seeing the before & after. Chip & Joanna—the both of you can stop by my house anytime!!
Sad…
I AM TRULY SAD THAT THIS SERIES IS GOING OFF. I LOVE CHIP AND JO AND THE ENTIRE FAMILY. I think they are amazing and I wish them the very best. If I had a house of my own, I would pay them to come and renovate it. They really are miracle workers. And I love the fact that they aren’t afraid to tell the world that they are Christians and loving and kind parents. Their sunshine will be truly missed. God bless the Gaines Family.
I’m sad that this show is ending. I just found out about all the fixer upper different shows and yours is the best. Perhaps you will change your mind and come back – I hope. Let us know what will happen to you and your family in the future. Thanks for what you have accomplished.
I just recently, about 6 months ago, “found you” and have been avidly watching your shows from the beginning so I still have a lot of shows to watch. I’m so happy you two are OK as those D..n pop-ups are trying to say otherwise. Enjoy your lives to the fullest and I’m glad to have found your shows albeit a bit late in the game. Blessings to you and your family and all you do and want in your lives. Bon Voyage!
Very saddened,as it was the best renovation show, with the best restoration content by far. The sense of caring and concern for true values of the folks they helped along away was special and original.Chip and Jo, I know your hearts were in it. You took the time in your journey to share a part of it with us and we are grateful. We will miss you,and your wonderful family, continue to be a blessing to the lives you help along the way.
The Gaines Family will be missed. They will be in our hearts and prayers as they start their new journey in this life.
I like this show the best, and I watch the channel every day or night…. I think Chip and Joanna deserve a break and will be able to spend more time with the children.
Unfortunately, I didn’t find Fixer-Upper until the beginning of last season. Now you tell me it’s going to end! It’s one of the best shows on TV. It’s such a joy to see a couple who are friendly to each other and have fun. I’ll have to admit, I was afraid for them. After seeing what happened with the little people and the couple with 8 kids after being on TV, I see there is a lot of stress that goes on and I’m glad they’re getting out while they can. Please let them know they will be missed, and… Read more »
Fixer upper has become a staple in our home. We will miss everything to do with the show. I understand that the show was not eternal and would , at some point, have to end. That being said we still were not ready for it. God bless and best of luck with your future endeavors.
I will miss Chip and Joanna. They are the best.
