TV show description:
This family sitcom takes place in the 1990s and follows the story of Eddie Huang’s Taiwanese family as they make their way from Chinatown in Washington, DC to Orlando, Florida. They open up a steak restaurant and experience serious culture shock while pursuing the American Dream.
Young Eddie’s parents are Louis (Randall Park) and Jessica Huang (Constance Wu). Louis loves everything America and moves his family to open Cattleman’s Ranch Steakhouse. Unlike Jessica, he believes in the good of people. Jessica is a strong, protective mother who’s also a frugal, business-minded woman who doesn’t believe in wasting anything.
Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang) is the family’s eldest son loves hip-hop and often feels like the black sheep. He’s not thrilled about the move and wants desperately to belong. He always has a plan to get his situation to change, usually inspired by his favorite rappers.
Emery (Forrest Wheeler) is the middle son who adapts very well to the move and becomes popular very quickly. Optimistic and easy-going, he gets a girlfriend on the first day of school. Youngest son Evan (Ian Chen) is a mama’s boy who follows rules, is lactose intolerant, and is often sent by his mother to be a representative at neighborhood meetings — to get the inside scoop.
Episode #116 — Commencement

What do you think? Do you like the Fresh Off the Boat TV show? Would you have watched if it had been renewed for a seventh season?
I like this show. the story is real and both characters and actors are brilliant.
I really like this show. Jessica is my favorite character. I like the way she is so super efficient.
I stopped watching when Constance Wu when off on her political tirade last year. Also, they are starting to attack “white people.” I love how the world wants to come here due to the culture that made America great, then complain about the same.
The satirization of Chinese culture in the first year was hilarious but they have gradually run out of that material and it is starting to resemble a sit com about any other American family. I still love the show and I hope it isn’t cancelled.
While I do agree the episode with keying card was bad. I will still continue to watch show in hopes writers saw how upset fans were and don’t go in that direction again. I still feel that the show is very funny. It does appear that maybe they are going to ease up a little on Jessica. For now I will continue to watch because it still makes me laugh.
I don’t like the part of the mother. Louis and the boys are precious.. She is just too hard to watch. No one alive could bear to live with her.
The last episode we watched made my husband and me decide to stop watching this show. While we had enjoyed it in the past, Jessica’s erasing the rummage sale price and having the person fired from her job, and the grandmother keying the car were beyond our tolerance level for a TV show that is family oriented. Is this what we want to teach our children? NO, it is not.
I totally agree with your comment Margie. Have noticed some negative comments in the last couple of episodes directed at “white” people. This wouldn’t get past the editor if it were any other race!!!!!!!!!!! Jeff

FRESH ENJOYABLE FAMILY SHOW
Keep it going. It’s great!
LOVE, LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!
Love it.
Love this show!!!!
This show is soooo entertaining, smart, funny. Stop sniffing that brain killer & keep this show on air. America loves this fun family & we can’t get enough of them
does anyone realize that the term ” Fresh off the Boat” meant fresh fruit and as we used to say when someone came over ; he was “Right off the Boat” meaning he didn’t speak English and he didn’t know the ways of the country.
Ok. The show isn’t for brainiacs but it is funny. Please don’t cancel it. We all need to laugh more. Enough of all the cop shows.
I’m so tired of every show making white americans (especially the women) look stupid. The family on the show is so hung up on race. It must be appealing the asian census, but overly predictable and formulaic. I do not like this show and the amount of my life lost watching it. Please yank it!
brilliant. Wu is fabulous. Need more Asians on TV. Do not cancel.
