If you were waiting anxiously to find out the identity of the mysterious Magic Man on ABC’s Happy Town, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Happy Town revolves around a bunch of strange disappearances and murders in a small town. The large cast includes Sam Neill, M.C. Gainey, Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Amy Acker, Steven Weber, Ben Schnetzer, Sarah Gadon, Jay Paulson, and Robert Wisdom.
After a disappointing start in the ratings, Happy Town was pulled off the airwaves for much of May. Before the show could return on June 2nd, ABC officially cancelled the series. Only eight episodes have been filmed but at least answers to some of the TV show’s mysteries will be revealed by the end.
Unfortunately, ABC has pulled the show off the air once again. Happy Town was scheduled to take next Wednesday off but return for June 30th and July 7th with the last installments. The network has decided, likely because Happy Town’s ratings have gotten really bad, to replace them with repeats of Castle.
It’s likely that ABC will get around to airing the last two episodes of Happy Town on a Saturday night sometime this summer. It won’t be soon though. On July 3rd, they’ll burn off the last episodes of the forgotten. On July 10th, the network’s airing the extra two episodes of Eastwick. Could Happy Town return on July 17th? Another mystery that we’ll have to wait to have solved.
What do you think? Are you upset that ABC has pulled the last two episodes of Happy Town? Do you think they’ll ever air?

I am watching Dallas Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore on Hulu. So sad this show was canceled. Great characters and mysterious premise. It seems like so many great shows are not given a chance to grow.
I tend NOT to watch new TV shows for this very reason. You get interested in a show and then it’s gone! Same thing with Eastwick, it just wasn’t there any more
Remember the programs Life, Eli Stone, Eastwick, and one about 7 people held captive during a bank robbery…. what happened to these shows???? I have no idea how any of them ended. I told myself that I would not get hooked on a show on any network. Then along comes Happy Town and I start watching get hooked and then poof it is gone, reappears, disappears. Then the bigwigs at the networks wonder why people not watching their shows. Maybe the answer is WE CAN’ FIND THEM TO WATCH.
Like the others have said give shows a fighting chance.
I never understood how you can tell how a show is doing after 3or 4 episodes, especially when they are spread out. If you do subscribe to a programming guide such as TV Guide and it has the show listed and then bam something else comes on. But to plainly state Happy Town will return in 2 weeks and the you show a rerun(?) of something else is not fair to your viewers. I agree with the others, at least show the last episodes so we won’t be left hanging
Damn!!! Seriously!?!?!?! What is up with pulling it!!!!
This sucks! I finally started looking forward to watching something on Wed. nights and they decide to pull it. They have plenty of shows that don’t have good ratings. Why pull this one?
Please bring back Happy Town. I liked the show. Also Eastwick. I wish is you must take a show off the air that you allow it to finish .
I agree, please bring back both Happy Town and Eastwick. I too never watch live TV, I have a DVR and watch it on my time. Give them a chance!!!
Bring that show back you said it was a limited serie anyway. I really wanted to know who the magic man is. Shows that you should cancel you don’t like the Bachelor all lies no one is together.
@jean: FYI: I was not a limited series. The producers would have liked to have kept it going but it was cancelled due to low ratings.
I liked this show please bring it back. You people don’t give shows enough time to find an audience.
I hate this!!! I actually finally found a series on abc that sucked me in, one worth watching and now they are saying that they won’t let it live on. Most of my evening viewing pleasures come from fox, but one night a week I turned the channel to catch happy town. I think that it is a tragedy that the are going to make a great show suffer for their lack of knowledge on where to place it. I think that happy town should take their show elsewhere. Maybe I can catch the next seson on Fox!!!! That would… Read more »
I have had it with ABC. They consistently cancel good shows and leave the viewers with unanswered questions.
This was one of THE best shows abc had and they pulled it? No ratings…heck…they didn’t give it a CHANCE to get ratings. This would have probably grown in ratings from nothing to much much more than something but the idiotic people at abc pull it before it even got a chance.
1.2 –> 4.5 million viewers is a jump. I bet it would’ve jumped more.
Hell yes I’m mad. The promos kept promising “all will be revealed”. If it was a limited series anyway, they owe it to the fans to give us the ending.
i am really upset that abc has done this to happy town, i work 2 jobs and there are a few shows that i like to watch,(tired of all the reality shows), and happy town is one of them. why did you pull the show, low ratings ( and some of the reality shows get good ratings?) i think even though it had low ratings it was not going to be on forever, just finish out the show and let us viewers who are hooked see who the magic man really is. You have plenty of other shows that have… Read more »
This is a pandemic. When did we start living in a world where TV shows need to debut at number 1? Those of us who remember cheers might recall that after its first season it was the lowest rated show on television. It was only during the summer re-runs that the show gained a following. You HAVE to give a show time to build a following. Especially in todays age of ondemand and DVRs. I almost never watch shows as they air live. I go out and watch them when I come home. It’s sad. Yet another show with potential… Read more »
wow, i had to google happy town to see what was happening with this show. I know myself I was kinda shocked to find a series i really liked on abc, seems i do not watch anything but that show on their channel. Kinda figures that a show to make you think, and sit on the edge of your seat would be pulled by them, and go back to drivel repeats of castle- or other crappy programming that they soooo seem to like…. Bring back HT, for us intelligent viewers, get a better time slot, and maybe do some advertising… Read more »
