If you were waiting anxiously to find out the identity of the mysterious Magic Man on ABC’s Happy Town, you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
Happy Town revolves around a bunch of strange disappearances and murders in a small town. The large cast includes Sam Neill, M.C. Gainey, Geoff Stults, Lauren German, Amy Acker, Steven Weber, Ben Schnetzer, Sarah Gadon, Jay Paulson, and Robert Wisdom.
After a disappointing start in the ratings, Happy Town was pulled off the airwaves for much of May. Before the show could return on June 2nd, ABC officially cancelled the series. Only eight episodes have been filmed but at least answers to some of the TV show’s mysteries will be revealed by the end.
Unfortunately, ABC has pulled the show off the air once again. Happy Town was scheduled to take next Wednesday off but return for June 30th and July 7th with the last installments. The network has decided, likely because Happy Town’s ratings have gotten really bad, to replace them with repeats of Castle.
It’s likely that ABC will get around to airing the last two episodes of Happy Town on a Saturday night sometime this summer. It won’t be soon though. On July 3rd, they’ll burn off the last episodes of the forgotten. On July 10th, the network’s airing the extra two episodes of Eastwick. Could Happy Town return on July 17th? Another mystery that we’ll have to wait to have solved.
What do you think? Are you upset that ABC has pulled the last two episodes of Happy Town? Do you think they’ll ever air?

to ABC I’m extremely disappointed at the cancellation of Happy Town. It got intruiging buildup before its premiere, and was definitely worth watching UNTIL I COULDN’T FIND IT ANY MORE! So I go on line and see some conflict between “it’s been put on hold for a few weeks/indefinitely” and “it”s been cancelled”. Your would-be basic loyal viewer hates this, do you know that? And then I read that it’s too much like Twin Peaks-now I really want to know who runs your programming-are they secret agents from the cable companies who want me to watch shows On Demand and… Read more »
Ugh! I agree! I loved this show! A refreshing “mystery” show! I am so mad it got pulled so soon! Way to give Happy Town a shot ABC!
ABC play tooo much . I couldn’t wait to watch Happy Town. Give it another time slot.
I cannot believe that Happy Town was dropped without an ending. I’m sick and tired of reality shows and looked forward to watching something different. I will not be wasting my time watching any new shows airing just to have them dropped.
I loved HAPPY TOWN and I am so dissapointed that we the fans do not get a chance to see it through. I am so dissapointed in the networks decisions to cancel a show after a couple of episodes.I record all my programs so I can watch at my leisure , and what a shock to see something else on tape when its advertised to be on!!!! Thank You ABC for letting your viewers Down once again!!!!!! I am no longer an ABC viewer. Gypsy OUT!!!!!
I agree with the comments about how stupid ABC is. I’m sure the people who make these decisions all make HUGE salaries but clearly have no clue. They must be crack addicts because they have the attention span of a flea. They never give these shows enough time to get a following going. And they keep dumb cop shows like Castle on, but always, always, always kill off suspense shows like Happy Town, Eastwick etc. right in the middle of the run. They must think “suspense” means that the viewer never gets to know the outcome of the series. I… Read more »
I’m so tired of ABC pulling their shows. The Forgotten was awesome, but the only way I could watch it was on Hulu, and only a few episodes were released (to Hulu)…now they’re pulling Happy Town? What the hell? You can’t complain about nobody watching your shows if you don’t make them available for people to watch. And cancelling after a couple episodes? Please, that’s just stupid. Give the shows a proper time slot so people can watch them and give the show a fair amount of episodes to get into the show with. Look at ER…it was cancelled a… Read more »
My guess is the The Gates will be next. With no conclusion.
Enough is enough! This is not the first time a favorite show has been taken off right in the MIDDLE of it……..my mom who is in her 70s loved the show and is sooooo disappointed as I am, that it will not be returning. Enough with the reality bologne….give us something interesting to watch
I am so angry. I couldn’t wait for the next episode every week.
I am SO SICK of ABC pulling shows off the air and not even letting those of us who watch them finish. I loved EASTWICK and Happy Town and Swingtown.
What the @#%*&@ ABC? Lets ALL ban ABC shows and then they won’t have to worry about aring anything at all.
So what if ABC aired the alleged last 2 episodes. Those last 2 episodes gave the viewers no closure…..just more mysteries and questions. Someone (SYFY, USA, TNT) needs to pick-up Happy Town. Or, heaven forbid, ABC accept the responsibility and finish the series appropriately……tie up the loose ends and give us closure.
I’m so disappointed Happy Town was cancelled. It was rather refreshing having something else to keep you in suspense other than the run of the mill dating game aka Bachelor/Bachelorette and lets not forget about all the other same ole song and dance shows.
I’m so disappointed. Happy Town was great TV in a sea of “reality tv” overload (and I’m a reality tv junkie to a certain degree). I wish the execs would reconsider.
I just watched 4 episodes of Happy Town that I had taped and was really excited about the show even though one of my co-workers said she had been wondering why it had not been on lately. You cannot expect people to be loyal to a show that isn’t given a regular time slot. I have tried in the past to give many new summer and late season replacements a chance but this will be the last one I will try to even watch – bring on Netfilx – I can depend on that. I’m sick and tired of devoting… Read more »
