The new season of Kevin Can Wait will be dark. This week, CBS revealed how star Erinn Hayes will be written out of the TV show, Deadline reports.
In June, we reported that Hayes was fired from the show and replaced with Leah Remini. On the sitcom, she played the wife of Kevin James’ lead character, retired police officer Kevin Gable.
So how will Kevin Can Wait deal with Hayes’ exit? According to CBS EVP Thom Sherman, her character will be killed off:
[T]he character will have passed away, and we will be moving forward in time catching up at a later date.”
When asked if Hayes had input on how her character would leave the show, CBS Entertainment chief Kelly Kahl simply said “no.”
Season two of Kevin Can Wait debuts on CBS on September 25th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Very sad that Erinn Hayes was fired. We thought the show had great character chemistry. We’ll watch a couple episodes, but I think it was a mistake.
I don’t want another King of Queens. I can watch that in reruns. They should have left the cast as it was. I think they’re making a mistake.

Actor/actress do take in mind when sign contracts ( in this one (CBS) how they are killed off for no understandable pardons). If anyone signs with them they might not…..because how they treated actors/actresses . It looks like CBS might have caused future possible actors/actresses not to sign with CBS. If they killed her off because the blamed her and not Kevin….(he is the main person) he shouldn’t have taken blame not her. I did not know about season 1 so will be watching season 2 love leah and james together i still watch king of queens
I liked the way Erin Hayes played her chsracter. I will watch the second season because Kevin Jzmes makes me laugh and we really need laughter in our lives.

Why would they kill off Erin Hayes. I loved her as Kevin’s wife. That is so wrong that they are taking her off the show. I liked her best on the show and I think they should keep her as Kevin’s wife on the show. It’s just wrong to kick her off the show. I will watch Season 2. I like Leah Rehmini. I think they should have recast the role. It’s not like she played it for 10 yes. Killing off his wife will likely result in a drop in ratings this season.
They recanted her with Leah Remini. Because the show’s budget couldn’t have the both of them on and Kevin James really wanted Leah to be a regular so he fired Erinn
Does this mean he will be a widow?
