NCIS will see another character exit the series. Maria Bello, who plays Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane, is expected to depart the CBS series midway through the upcoming 18th season. The actress joined the show at the start of season 15 with a three-year contract.
Deadline reported that Bello will appear in eight episodes of the new season to wrap up the storyline for her character.
A premiere date for season 18 has not been announced yet, but CBS is hoping to have NCIS and most of its line-up return this fall.

Hi…sorry that Jack is leaving NCIS. We just hope NCIS will not be cancelled. We have been watching it since day 1.

Why not renew her contract?
Maybe Maria didn’t want to renew her contract, Mitch. As a main headliner, in movies, she may have felt her NCIS part, wasn’t big enough & had better offers. IMHO

The character she plays is very good…She has created a unique character. I hate to see her leave, but wish her well. I wish she were more actived in roles and shows…

Renew her contract. She plays a great part of the show. You all have a poor way of getting rid of the characters that make the show.

Micheal Weatherly was a main character, in NCIS & he decided to leave the show. Now, look at him. He stars in the terrific show, “Bull”.
Cote De Pablo left, to do other things. But she returned at the end of season 16 & will be back at the beginning of season 17, for the first two episodes & episodes 10 & 11, as part of her story line.
She & Michael Weatherly are supposed to be executive producers of a new CBS detective drama, “MIA”.
Will be sad to see Jack go. Hope she is off to bigger and better things in her future, like Tony. I hope the Show can keep alive for the long run. Even if Gibbs needs to semi retire. By now the Respect for the real NCIS and all our Armed Forces is what I really care about. This show gives me a avenue to see just a little fraction of the lives of the people serving Our Country and let me Love and Respect them for their personal sacrifices their making for us. I like her character…wish to have her more involved….sad for her to leave
I’m truly disappointed that the Jack character will be going away! Ms. Hello does a tremendous job and the character has incredible moderating talents for the show!!!
