In the past, CBS has used Saturday nights to air episodes of 48 Hours and reruns of their crime dramas. They’ve also used the night to burn off unaired episodes of cancelled shows. Now, the network is airing an original scripted series called Ransom on Saturdays. The TV series is an international co-production so it may not end up costing them much. Will the ratings for Ransom be good enough to ensure that the TV show will see a second season? Or, will it be cancelled instead? Stay tuned.
On CBS‘ Ransom TV show, an experienced crisis and hostage negotiator, Eric Beaumont (Luke Roberts), and his team are brought in to save lives when no one else can. Eric understands criminals better than they sometimes understand themselves and he uses his insight into human behavior to resolve the most difficult kidnap and ransom cases. Eric’s team is played by Brandon Jay McLaren, Nazneen Contractor, and Sarah Greene.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival.

Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.

I really like the new show, “Ransom”. Main character is amazing and so convincing, he could sell me anything…. Ensemble is great in their supporting role and I hope the show will continue for another season.
Keep this show is love it
My wife and I have been more interested in the show now.We enjoy watching it on Saturday nights .We hope it can be renewed for a second season.
Not bloody likely
They could move it to the CW. It has better ratings than Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Otherwise, you are correct. It is toast.
I hope ur wrong! It definitely would do better on another night.
Random started slow but has begun to improve. I think it should be given a second chance
John Trusty http://tvseriesfinale.com/tv-show/ransom-season-one-ratings/#comment-2479394 On the episode titled “Joe” when Addison Ried tell Frasier Watson’s wife Maya, that “mr. Beaumont has freed ‘thousands’ of hostages in the last five year”. This seems incredible. Five years would be 1,825-1,827 days. So, if it was just an even 1,000 hostages, that would equate to 1.825 days per hostage, if it was plural thousands , say 2,000 then it would be 0.91 days per hostage. Your writers should double check what they would have a character say, especially if the character was supposed to be a graduate of MIT at 16 years of age.… Read more »
Don’t think any of us know the history behind this but I’m definitely impressed with your math (mine sucks as my post above indicates); however, perhaps there were multiple instances (which are not at all that rare) where his negotiations led to the release of large numbers of hostages as in the case of mass kidnappings, e.g. the Boka Haram taking of a large number of school girls in Africa. Just a thought.

Yes, it has great potential
Great to have a show that does not need senseless weekly killings and sex to have an intriguing plot. The subsequent shows after the season premiere have shown great improvement.
Well, it’s three episodes in and I’m having serious doubts about continuing to watch this. The “liberties” taken with reality are seriously undermining the stories. I’ll give it one more episode, but if it doesn’t improve I’ll be done with it.
Just heard The Mary Tyler show wasn’t given much hope, but the network gave it a chance and look how that turned out, Tim!!
The show has an interesting idea it’s not bad but I can’t stand the character Maxine from the time she stepped into the show she’s been nothing but rude arrogant nasty rotten thanks who the hell she is think she’s above everybody in that organization she treats me the other team members like this s*** and I want to sit there and watch the show but her character completely ruins it for that so I’m not going to be watching it anymore and it’s it is I don’t need to sit there by one character I’ll just go watch something… Read more »
If ur still watching the show u can see her reason for being on the show.
What???? no really…what are you saying???
I hope u see the show has improved?
Would like
To see it renewed, give it a chance
I am part of the 50% drop in ratings. I tuned in the first show based on the tempting commercial. It was extremely disappointing. What a poorly crafted show. I couldn’t get through the first episode. Badly written, acted and directed. It’s really awful.
I agree with everything you just commented on, bad acting, bad writing and just plain bad as a show on Saturday nights.
I think the show should be given a chance, but putting shows on and then pre-empting them after two showing watchers find something else. I Liked the actors and figured the show would build in story line.
It’s nice to see a major network air first run episodes – of any scripted series – on a Saturday night, but this Canadian show is bottom-of-the-barrel.
Like the show and we all know it is fake so we don’t have to be so particular abouts all the details but yes would be nice to have medical people involved when necessary , hope it is not cancelled
Like the show but the added performace of ANNIE the research woman in GRAND SLAM IS THE BIGGEST PLUS FOR THE SHOW.THEY SHOULD USE HER EVERY WEEK
Watched it both times. Need to get someone with medical knowledge to go over script. First show, need a root attached to hair to get DNA, second worse, transplant patient does not miraculous get well and has to be in isolation after transplant, in show no one was wearing masks, gowns, etc. Reason for not doing chemo did not make sense, no evidence it would make his lungs weak, much more likely would have more of a problem having to take anti-rejection drugs. Like the actors, but scripts not realistic, need to pay attention to detail.
