Reign is returning to CW with a fourth season, and fans can expect some very big changes on the series. Mary will finally head to Scotland, and that change of scenery will bring new people in her life.
TV Line reported that the series is casting not just not one potential suitor for Mary, but two new men will enter her life. The news outlet shared the following about the new arrivals:
“First up is Lord Darnley, a nobleman with a blood-claim to the English throne. Much like the late, great Francis, Darnley has a ‘wildly ambitious mother whose love hinges entirely on his ability to secure a crown,’ though his own ambition should not be underestimated. He hopes to become Mary’s second husband, a union which ‘could take down Elizabeth, giving [the couple] not just one nation, but two.’
Also hoping to win Mary’s heart is Bothwell, a ‘warm-hearted bad boy’ who is deeply in love with her. (Spoiler alert: A quick glance at the history books reveal that Bothwell stood accused of murdering someone very close to Mary. Time will tell whether or not that will be incorporated into the show.)”
Princess Claude will also have a new man enter her life. Gabriel, the son of Narcisse, will fall in love with her and wish to marry, even though she already loves someone else. His character is described as a “sexy and highborn rogue who is also a plain-speaking realist.”
The fourth role being cast is actually a recast. Charles’ brother Henry has been played by Jackson Hodge-Carter is being recast after an age up. He will not be happy about his brother being on the thrown.
Are you excited to see what happens on Reign once Mary returns to Scotland? Tell us what you think.
I think Mary should finally show her power with confidence as man would if she was a king. I want Lola and Narcise to find their way back to each other. Laith should be given a title and his land back. The release of Lord Cornroy should shake things up.
Absolutely hooked on Reign. Can’t wait for season 4.
So hooked to the show can’t get enough
Cannot get enough of this series, acting and character casts great. Yet to see series four on our screens in nz. Craig you do us proud.
Kings and Queens are always an exciting subject, and nail biting. I love Reign and the fact it is based on real life events makes it even more interesting. It is addicting and I hope the CW will keep it running. So, writers please get busy and get the ratings up! Reign is refreshing in comparison to all the gory vampire and werewolf stuff on t.v.
Couldn’t agree more. Love the fact that the show is based on real life events.
