Last month, we reported the third season of the Scream TV show on MTV would be a reboot, with a new, more diverse cast, led by showrunner Brett Matthews, with Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, and Yaneley Arty are joining the Scream executive producer team.
Now, MTV has released more information about Scream, season three, including biographies for the new characters. The first two seasons of the horror drama starred Willa Fitzgerald, Bex Taylor-Klaus, John Karna, Amadeus Serafini, and Carlson Young.
Back in October of 2016, MTV renewed Scream for a shorted third season of six episodes. The first two installments had 10 and 13 episodes, respectively.

Heres more on Scream, season three, from TV Line:
TVLine has exclusively learned of five new characters being cast in Season 3:
* First up is Dion, a Michael B. Jordan-esque football player on track to score a college scholarship — that is, until a masked killer uses Dion’s darkest secrets against him, turning his life upside down and making him question his own sanity.
* Liv is Dion’s cheerleader girlfriend, as beautiful as she is brilliant. She’s also down to lend a helping hand where needed, though her good intentions often land her in hot water.
* Kym is the rebellious one of the group, always willing to say what everyone else is thinking. She’s organized and protective, two qualities that will serve her well when a killer starts targeting her friends.
* Beth is a little different from her fellow seniors, sporting a goth look and a morbid collection of interests. A “walking encyclopedia of all things horror,” she’s compared to The Craft‘s Fairuza Balk.
* And then there’s Dion’s step-brother Jamal. Despite hanging out with a rough crowd, he’s got a big heart and an undying loyalty to Dion.
It should be noted that MTV is stressing diverse casting for Scream‘s third season; Dion and Jamal are both black, while actresses of diverse backgrounds will be considered for the roles of Liv and Kym.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the Scream TV series? Will you tune in for season three reboot on MTV?
What the hell??? How are they just going to reboot without wrapping up by answering the unanswered questions from th first 2 seasons??? What idiot made this poorly thought out decision to get rid of a cast that we were so familiar with, especially before they ever revealed the Brandon James mystery that they have been building up to since the very first episode??? MTV is REALLY DROPPING THE BALL ON THIS ONE!!! We don’t need a more diverse cast, we need a conclusion
but the fact that your taking away the old cast it would ruin the whole story so please reconsider
I will I love the show but what I read does that mean all the main actors from the last seasons are gonna be gone cause if so you would be taking away from the build up for them to end it all and have a normal life the last show ended without that noha even said there might be a killer out there still so to change the main characters and start over would be insane
Why did this happen? Who’s the killer from the last episode of season 2? This is upsetting since I was really looking forward to season 3 starting May 30th, 2017.
Seasons 1 and 2 were perfect, why change it! And what about the storylines not yet resolved?? Plz bring back the original cast!
I loved season 1 and 2. Now it’s going to be totally different with a black cast that I can’t relate too. Good luck with that! ✌️
Stupid the reboot something that was so good already…I’m out
Agreed. Before this season 3 news, Scream was one of my favorite shows…WAS…
Having just seen last ep of season 2 I am very disappointed that we will not see a conclusion to the storyline of both series in 3.How can the cast be changed before we find out who the true killer is. It is wrong to take the show to a new storyline when the first one has not been brought to a conclusion. I am sure I am not alone in wanting series three to continue with the original cast, after all the story is about Emma’s family history. Please keep to original cast, new characters can still be introduced… Read more »
yes that would be best you just cant end it and start over if they do season 3 might as well be a new scream and possibly the last if they change everything like they say
Stupidest idea for a 3rd season that I have ever heard. Makes the last season of Dexter sound like a masterpiece…WTF were they thinking?!?
