What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Paramount+ subscription service, the SEAL Team TV show stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, and Toni Trucks. The military action-adventure series centers on an exclusive Navy SEAL unit as they train for, plan, and risk their very lives to carry out perilous missions for the sake and honor of their country. Fierce and focused Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) leads the Tier One team. Despite the hardship it causes them and their families, this SEAL team is ready, willing, and able to embark upon secret missions at the drop of a hat. Team members include Jason’s trusted confidant, Ray Perry (Brown Jr.); loyal yet self-destructive Sonny Quinn (Buckley); and young Clay Spenser (Thieriot), a multilingual and second-generation SEAL. No-nonsense DEVGRU Intelligence Officer Lisa Davis (Trucks) is assigned primarily to Bravo Team.
Season Five Ratings
On CBS during the 2021-22 season, the first four episodes of the fifth season of SEAL Team averaged a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.47 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 19% in the demo and down by 12% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
On CBS during the 2023-24 season, the remaining episodes of the fifth season of SEAL Team averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.55 million viewers. Compared to season four, (which aired back in 2020 and 2021), that’s down by 72% in the demo and down by 60% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. Find out how SEAL Team stacks up against other CBS TV shows.
SEAL Team was renewed for a sixth season, which debuted on September 18, 2022 on Paramount+. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
SEAL Team drew low ratings in its fourth and final season on CBS and my understanding is that it was set to be cancelled. Instead, the execs renewed SEAL Team as an exclusive on Paramount+. It performed well enough on the streamer to be renewed for two more years. Season seven is the end. I don’t expect CBS to keep airing the series but, you never know. I’ll keep my ears open and an eye out for news, and will update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free alerts on SEAL Team cancellation or renewal news.

What do you think? Are you glad that the SEAL Team TV show has been renewed for a sixth season? How would you feel if Paramount+ had cancelled this TV series, instead?
I feel like this is the last season and they are starting to wind it down. Jason’s head issues are a career ender, you don’t come back as an operator with his condition. Ray is looking to start a non-profit, Clay is going to take family leave, Trent just took leave, and Sonny has been hinting at getting out to be a family man. They are going to have to rename the show “Brock” if they return for a season six.
Please keep going!!
Yes please, Season 6
I really hope they do a season 6!!! This was a one of the best tv shows of the yr!!!!
Absolutely do not cancel Seal Team!! Its one of the most authentic and gripping shows out there. People will pay for streaming shows that they love to follow.
You can’t leave faithful fans hanging with the season five episode 8 ending!
Leep Seal Teamand Keep Blue Bloods
Hello People please keep this show on your watchlist . All shows that puts those who give their lives on the front lines should always be supported to me it keeps us informed on what our soldiers do to protect our American freedoms especially in our age today I love this show renew and continue to bring more great talent to the screen keep going Bravo 6 7 8 etc……
…..
I love the show and watched from day 1. I was disappointed to learn that in order to watch this year it would cost me to do so…did not see that coming. Will not be watching on paramount+.
Totally Agree. I love the show, but will not be forced to pay a streaming subscription to watch it. That’s a shame since there is so much other worthless crap saturating the airwaves.
Paramount+ has some other good offerings as well. I don’t think if it had not been an option that we’d at least be seeing these 4 more episodes in Jan…..just saying…
Seal Team is a great show and if it was down in ratings they should’ve tried a different time slot. I never missed the show even if I had to record it, and watch it the next day not at 3 a.m.!Just like everything else the good decent shows gets slashed, and the trashy shows and stupidity shows stay on the air ridiculous
I love the seal team show and was very disappointed when cbs cancelled this show . Please put it back on cbs so we all can enjoy.
Do not cancel seal team there are so many **** shows on TV now 90% of the shows that are on TV suck seal team is not one of them please renew seal team for another season season six we new seal team for season six
I absolutely love seal team. I’ve been a fan since day one and continue to be a huge fan and I will be extremely disappointed if it’s not renewed for a 6th season. Please paramount I heard about paramount plus from seal team and that’s the sole purpose of me getting and paying for paramount plus in the beginning but again seal team is my absolute favorite tv show on television to date. #renewfora6thseason #bravo1iscaptainamericatomy9yroldson
It is extremely disappointing that if I now want to watch Seal Team I will have to pay more to do it! I have watched it from the start and to change how it is aired is not fair to loyal watchers. How will you get a bigger audience when it has already been on regular programming and now have to pay more to watch it? It doesn’t sound like a recipe for more viewership! I for one cannot afford to add to my already big enough Xfinity bill.
Amen brother!!
You got it Cosmo. Agreed. There are also a number of us old folks, and even the young, that don’t pay the multi bucks for cable or for internet access over the wire to be able to enjoy a streaming service. No matter the cost. Nor do a lot of us enjoy watching stuff on tiny little phone screens…AFAIAC…they just set Seal Team up for the big banana. Shame good show until the latest one with the flashbacks. Gotta rate that one a 2 outta 10….and with the war in Afghanistan somewhat history….can’t see where they can go much further… Read more »
Just watched the 12th episode of season 5 on Paramount and it was very good. One option, depending on family dynamics, is to drop cable, get the cheapest internet option, then get a network like Hulu that provides a lot of tv programs. You can then add other networks. I did that and have several networks now which total about the same as my original cable/internet pkg. The nice thing is that you can cancel these networks at the drop of a hat. For example I subscribed to Showtime just to see the new Dexter. Now that it’s over, I’ll… Read more »
Bad enough I’m paying to watch tv now you want me to pay twitch what I’m paying for already. Screw cbs and paramount
