What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the Showtime cable channel, The Chi stars Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, Jacob Latimore, Alex Hibbert, Yolonda Ross, Shamon Brown Jr., Michael V. Epps, Birgundi Baker, and series creator Lena Waithe. In season three, guest stars include Luke James, Michael V. Epps, Alani “La La” Anthony, Lil Rel Howery, Cedric Young, Kandi Burruss, and Curtiss Cook. The story explores life on Chicago’s South Side and the series is filmed entirely in Chi-Town. It follows a group of Chicagoans who, at first, are connected by circumstance, but they then develop a bond, due to their loneliness, thirst for atonement, and hunger for a more meaningful life.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of The Chi averaged a 0.13 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 399,000 viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 1% in the demo and even in viewership. Find out how The Chi stacks up against other Showtime TV shows.

Will Showtime cancel or renew The Chi for season four? Despite a big drop in the ratings, the series remained one of the channel’s highest-rated series in season two. The ratings were consistent in year three so, I think the show will be renewed as long as Waite wants to continue making it. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. Please renew The Chi, I love that show
I would be devastated if the chi did not renew for another season. The show is based on the lives of not only chicago residents. But from people all over. The show gives insight on what people are experiencing all over the world. New York, Chicago, California, New Jersey. All I can say is please bring the show back.
Season 4 is a must! This was the best season yet. Have to find out if Emmet and Tiff make it. I hope so. Please let Black Love prevail this time! Let’s go for Season 4.

I surely hope not! This show had a great thing going on and it lost it all with major cast loses. You can’t recover from losing your two biggest characters and fill them in with dumb out of order story lines! Sorry to say but this should be the end of what could of been a great series.
I’m hopeful for season 4, I believe there’s a lot that can be added to this series, possibly not only 4, but 5 seasons, loved the characters and storyline!

I love all the characters…especially Brandon and the guy who killed his brother and Jerrica…it seem to still be good without them….I hope this was someone’s dream and they wake up and bring the charactets back…I love this better than the haves and haves not..
My husband will not renew my subscription if they dont bring The Chi back…seems to keep me quite….Im a late comer but have enjoyed every minute between rest
I really enjoyed season 3 . I’m looking forward to season 4
Season 3 was very educational. The writers touched on a lot of real issues that ppl living in low income poverty areas face today . Along with the big issue no one likes to talk about young black and brown children going missing in low income areas .Because the resources are lessened based on the neighborhoods. Young children selling drugs .And the struggle. It’s sad that a lot of ppl didn’t see beyond the characters. People living in low income areas go through a lot and are always put last in America. Season 3 was bad. It really showed that none of the actors on the show can be the series lead. The writing was awful. They need to bring back Jason Mitchell and Tiff any Boone. I know that they killed the character but bring him back. He made the show.
I was very disappointed in season 3. The only way I’d like to see season 4 return is if the writers from season 1 and 2 return and write it.
This season was horrible for many reasons. The new additions to the show was not needed. Lena, LaLa, and Kandi need to go. All three of them are lacking in acting skills. They tried to add star power to the show and it did not work.
