What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Rookie TV show stars Nathan Fillion, Alyssa Diaz, Richard T. Jones, Melissa O’Neil, Eric Winter, and Mekia Cox. As the story begins, John Nolan (Fillion) is a middle-aged divorced man from Pennsylvania. He owns a construction company but decides to give up his old life to pursue a new career as a police officer in the Los Angeles Police Department. He graduates from the Police Academy and becomes the oldest rookie on the force. He works with Sergeant Wade Grey (Jones), Detective Angela Lopez (Diaz), training officers Nyla Harper (Cox) and Tim Bradford (Winter), and fellow rookie Lucy Chen (O’Neil).
Season Four Ratings
The fourth season of The Rookie averaged a 0.36 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.18 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 27% in the demo and down by 15% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM). While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. There can be other economic factors involved in a show’s fate, but typically the higher-rated series are renewed and the lower-rated ones are cancelled. Will ABC cancel or renew The Rookie for season five? This show’s a middle-of-the-road performer with so-so ratings but it’s co-produced by ABC Studios. I suspect that will be enough to keep it on the air for another (possibly final) year. I’ll update this page with breaking developments. I hope it isnt cancelled. I watch it on streaming a day or 2 after it airs. But i am not in the only demographic that matter (18 to 40). So my opion doesnt count.

Good writing, good directing and great acting so….why would you cancel? The only reason why season 3 was watched less.. people were waiting a LONG time for it’s season debut…thanks to the pandemic. I kept watching for updates as to when will it return…and saw little news. It seemed like years and all of a sudden it returned. Many didn’t know. By this time, many were streaming so didn’t see advertisements that it was back. This does not rate that people didn’t watch it intentionally. Do Not cancel the Rookie!!! It is a great show and deserves more seasons. If you want to cancel shows, cancel the garbage like The Masked Singer, The Bachelor, and dumb ass shows like that!

There are alot of shows that I don’t like or watch but seem to go on and on. Renew the Rookie, Keep something interesting on TV that has a good plot and that’s relevant, Please
Excellent acting. Real characters and humor, growing relationships, does not do all rape, like long lasting S.V.U.. Does not do all bombings and spies like LA. Quality similar to NCIS original. Great story lines, characters are stars that are known but make it real. Please continue. John is such a great male model for manhood. And so are the other men strong balanced and the women great role models. for the girls growing up.
I hope The Rookie doesn’t get cancelled. We can’t see it because Tegna won’t allow Mediacom to air ABC. We see it online but ABC.com locks it out until a week after new show airs. So I hope these issues are taken into consideration on any decision
