Once Upon a Time is getting ready to end its sixth season, and there are a lot of open ended stories on the drama. So many secondary characters have been ignored, and fans do want answers.
They will have to wait for those answers some more. They could come during season seven – if ABC picks up the series. Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz have wanted to update the fans on all of the characters, but it is a matter of finding the time.
Horowitz said the following to Entertainment Weekly about Once Upon a Time:
“It ultimately comes down to: Where do you want to spend your time? There’s so much we want to explore with our core characters. While we would love to tell you what’s going on with Kathryn [Anastasia Griffith] or the Red Queen, if we can find ways to slip in bits of it, or to tell you what’s going on with Lily, we’ll do it, but to give over a whole episode to it — as much as we love the idea on a conceptual level — it’s such precious real estate. Not that we don’t love the minor characters, but we have to honor our main cast. If we were doing 22 episodes and you were bringing all of them, you could almost get away with it more, because you could get right on to the next one, but if you have to wait a couple of weeks to get back to the main plot of what’s going on, it’s a tough balancing act. It’s just hard.”

I think the fact that there are just so many characters has been the downfall of the series. Quantity certainly does not equal quality. We have the quantity, in terms of characters, and because of that, the quality of the story has to suffer, in order to bring the story arch to completion. In the past, they have compensated for this by recycling story lines. The same story line, season after season, just with different characters filling the different roles, in the story. I like to see what happened between the time Cora had regina after dumping Rumple when Rumple appears again helping Regina in we are both. Most importantly, I want to know if the 4 main actors have signed to be in season 7, if there is one. Lana Parrilla, Colin O’Donohue, Jennifer Morrison and Robert Carlyle. Robert most important actor to be part of the season. Othereise the show dead.
They lost me when they killed off Neil a few seasons back. Didn’t want to join them on their trip to hell, either; so I don’t really care if it returns.
