Chicago Law will soon join Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD on NBC, and now the man in charge of the law office to be featured on the new series has been cast.
According to Deadline, Philip Winchester, who appeared on The Player earlier this season and Cinemax series Strike Back, will star as the lead on the series. Winchester is the first actor to be cast for Chicago Law, and he is likely to appear on an episode of Chicago PD to introduce his character later this season.
At this time, NBC is looking at launching the new addition to the Chicago family of shows led by Dick Wolf during the 2016-2017 season.
Many fans are excited about the new series, but it is too soon to tell if all four shows will work together on the network. Chicago Med had a successful launch in November, and it has already been renewed for a second season.

Love it! Can’t wait!
I really enjoy The Player. It was a fun action packed show and I’m really sad it got cancelled. Happy to see Philip Winchester getting another shot on NBC.
I didn’t watch Strikeback so I have no idea who he is. But I hope he’s not another Brit taking away yet another part from an American! Tired of that. I like to see Americans on TV here, too. Wonder how many Americans have parts on British tellie shows! Please tell me he’s American.
I am very , very pleased to see the Philip Winchester is going to be back on television, especially in Chicago Law. In a lead role that will suit him to a ‘T’. He was absolutely excellent in “Strikeback”, and , as much as I loved that program, am happy he is coming back to what should be a ‘more than one season’ show. The other effort, as the pawn in a program about gambling, was not a good forum for him. It would have been great to see him back in a show where his fight for law and… Read more »
I’m totally psyched about the show and Winchester just makes it that much more exciting. Yes, I’m a fan!!!! He’s awesome. Great job NBC and Dick Wolf. As a legacy Law and Order fan, i say well done. Not much could eclipse L&O, and you still haven’t. But this is a good start.
Suppose its a good decision, was hoping for Winchester to join Blindspot.
Know what you mean. Me too. Would have been great to see them together again…
Yes, I, too, was hoping to see Philip back with his old partner from Strikeback…but, am looking forward to seeing how this new platform works for him. I hope he gets to use his British accent!!!
