Zero Hour: When Will ABC Cancel Their New Series

zero hour canceled soon?Today’s ratings brought more bad news for ABC’s Zero Hour TV series. While there’s no doubt that ABC will cancel the show, the question remains, “When?”

For those who haven’t seen it, Zero Hour follows a paranormal magazine publisher (Anthony Edwards) whose wife suddenly disappears. While he and his associates try to find her, they start to uncover a bigger mystery and must save the world from an impending disaster. The cast also includes Scott Michael Foster, Addison Timlin, Jacinda Barrett, Carmen Ejogo, and Michael Nyqvist.

Following mixed reviews, Zero Hour debuted last week to an in-season premiere low for the network — a 1.4 demo rating with 6.38 million viewers. Last night, the numbers got worse.

Per the fast affiliate ratings, the second episode drew only a 1.1 rating with 5.32 million viewers — a decline of 17-21%.

A couple years ago, ABC pulled My Generation after two low-rated episodes. The network let other ratings disappointments — Last Resort and 2011’s Charlie’s Angels — run quite a bit longer.

It seems likely that ABC will pull Zero Hour either today or before next week’s airing. They could keep it on the air for a bit longer but that seems doubtful since they can get better numbers from reruns.

Whatever they choose to do with the timeslot, hopefully they’ll release the remaining episodes so viewers who like the series will get some kind of resolution to the story.

What do you think? Will ABC pull Zero Hour before next Thursday or let it run longer? Do you think they’ll let the whole season air on television? Release it online or drop it altogether?

I really loved this show because there was so much intrigue and substance. If someone thought this show was crappy it was over their head. If a cancelling is going to happen let us see the rest of them and end the story. This is one show that you should have given a chance on.

Really really sick of networks pulling good shows after just a couple episodes if they don’t soar to number one immediately. Probably going to replace it with another crappy reality show.

it is a good show, ABC needs to change their executives who are so impatient to let an audience build up towards a show that had very little advertising. Please put the show back or give it to the scyfy channel

One of the best shows to premiere recently. ABC has no cojones – pulling out after 3 shows?? At least air the rest of the episodes so that those of us who are already involved with the show aren’t in a state of series-interuptus!! Its a shame there are no shows for people who like to escape into a good show for an hour a week. I guess America’s taste has gone to trash – like Honey Boo Boo and the other tired “reality” shows out there. Sorry but redneck life and Hollywood wife life is not my reality – but those shows swallow up the airwaves. I wrote to ABC – but Im sure it’s aready been placed in the circular file. SAD!

Here we are hunting and hunting for our show and can’t find it. How stupid of ABC. You have t give people a chance to discover it. My husband and I are bummed. Looked forward to see next episode. Now never will. Nothing worse than an unfinished story.

I really like the show. It’s is some thing different besides a regular cop show. I am sick to death of cop shows. Some were good when they started but there are so many now, with the same themes. This is refreshing and I enjoy the mystery. Give it a chance. I want to finish the story line. We need more variety. Please don’t change it to Sunday. To many other good shows on that night.

Me and my husband love the show. It is one of the few shows out that we both really like and can sit and watch together and both of us enjoy it. Let it run its course, those of us who do like it deserve a resolution to the story. It didn’t harm ABC to do that with The Last Resort and it won’t hurt them to do it with this show either. BTW The Last Resort was a very good show as well. All it amounts to with ABC is they can save a whole lot of $ by paying the people and airing another ridiculous reality show than it costs to pay actors, etc. for a good tv series. Keep losing all the good shows ABC and replacing them with crap reality shows or game shows and I am losing ABC.

I am with Michelle M …. They put up a series an you get invested in a story then they cancel it with no resolution…. I normally wait till 2nd or 3rd season to watch, I learned this with NBC canceling shows on cliff hangers…. Heck I didn’t watch Fringe till I heard when an how they were going to end the series only then did I watch the show….

I am liking the series I think it is refreshingly different from everything else that is around just now. It seems tv execs just can’t give programmes room to grow I think this could be a cracker of a series and am gutted it seems enviable that it will be cancelled I’m getting tired of watching a show only to find it’s getting cancelled maybe the poor numbers are because everyone else things why bother? as soon as I like something they cancel it! Think I’m gonna give up watching anything til it starts its 2nd season at least then ic I like it I’m not going to be robbed a few episodes in!

This show is becoming ridiculous with its biblical revelations nonsense, looking for signs of the end Times in everything they see. Pablum. Pure pablum.
