*9/3/20 update: 68 Whiskey has been cancelled by Paramount Network so, there won’t be a second season.
This is a tv show, not a documentary, docudrama, etc. It is for entertainment purposes. I served 32 years and I didn’t expect it to be anything but a dark comedy that it is touted as. I think they are doing a good job. I enjoy watching it and waiting to see what happens next. For those turned off by the sex scenes, to each their own. To me, sex a is natural part of being a human being. I realize that people are going to find ways and places to have sex no matter where they are. They do… Read more »
Too much #$@^%()$ language – and I make my living in construction. Even we don’t get that carried away!
68 whiskey is a great show, perfect mix of comedy and serious issues. Love it
I love this new show 68 whiskey! It’s new and refreshing, unlike some other shows. I love the comedy and drama mixed together! The characters are always coming up with something unique and unexpected things. It’s not the same thing as many of the other series. I truly hope this show will be renewed!
Check out the ratings, this show is a huge dud.
I have a feeling all the glowing reviews and ratings are from paid shills.
Well, Copperhead……….I’m not a paid shill and I think this series is damn good TV. I also think that the series was not as well promoted as it could have been. I think that could be a reason for the less then encouraging ratings.
But…..that’s just one guys opinion.
It was a disgusting opening scene and a terrible representation of the US Army. Who in the world thought that was a good idea to have that scene and language in a show about our military. We turned it off after 2 minutes and will not even consider watching it again. And I am sharing this opinion with my fellow Veterans.
Try not to judge to harshly. Do you honestly think that our soldiers don’t have sex when they are so far away from home? It seems as though you might be a bit of a prude!
Jill,
It’s a TV show. I think that most “thinking people” don’t think that this series was written and produced as a realistic depiction of the daily life of our dedicated men and women in the United States Army. It’s just a TV show. It’s meant to entertain, nothing more.
I thank you for your service. I think that I should also mention that I have a “20 year letter” in my files……somewhere.
Love this show. Will definitely watch!
I was looking forward to a show produced by Ron Howard and was sorely disappointed. The show was absolutely disgusting! The sex scenes , the crude language, the selling of stolen military medical supplies for drugs, debasing our medics….It just makes me sad that a show of this type even was allowed to be aired. What has happened to American morals and pride in our Military ?
Do you think our soldiers are completely celibate during deployments? As for the language, I grew up on military bases. There soldiers are in many cases living in a place that could be described as hell. Blowing off some steam is normal.
I have to agree 68 Whiskey totally gave the military a bad reputation. The language was distasteful but the sexual content was not believable. I was really looking forward to this series but have already removed it from my dvr recordings.
Have you ever been in the military, and been deployed to a place where death and destruction are unfortunately common? Don’t judge!
Absolutely horrible show. We turned it off after 20 minutes.
Not like MASH. More like MASHed potatoes. Just horrible and unwatchable.
So far we agree with everyone’s opinion. It was totally disgusting & we barely made it half way through the first episode. And we too took it off our list of things to keep watching. Hopefully no one believes this is how our wonderful military is really run!
So it’s not “Hogan’s Heroes”…….it’s realistic, to anyone who’s ever served in the military!
Dark comedy? This show portrayed nothing but cheap sex and corruption broken up by commercials and the token splattering of blood. I served 36 years in the military, in both the enlisted and officer ranks and wear the Combat Infantry Badge. For me, this show was a disturbing portrayal of any 68W. To think that anyone would watch this show and end up with any thought that this is how our military function would be a shame.
Unadulterated garbage. I was really looking forward to this series and was sorely disappointed. Not funny, not dramatic, bordering on pornographic and totally unbelievable. It also features terrible writing and horrid acting. This show has been deleted from my DVR schedule.
I was expecting so much more from Paramount after their terrific series “Yellowstone”.
And “Yellowstone” has no violence and graphic sexuality? Please!
I was SOOO disappointed in the first show! The writing is lazy and could stand lots more editing. I thought, “Here we go again…” with the gratuitous sex scenes not just once but had to keep it up. I was rooting for this show. I’ll watch another episode to see if it gets better and feels more compelling than this middle-school nonsense.
I was really hoping that this would be a good show, but the opening sex scene was absolutely DISGUSTING, and so were the other sex scenes. Apparently your writers could not think of anything useful to write about.
If there was any humor in this show it escaped me.
This is only the pilot episode I am commenting on. If I had to vote to continue, or cancel this show, I would vote to CANCEL it now and not waste anymore time with it.
We agree with Paul…We watched just 1 minute and deleted it. YUK!
We totally agree with Paul! We barely made it a minute before we turned it off and deleted the series for recording. What garbage!
Whole lot of prudishness on this thread. What do people think military life is reall like?
