What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the FOX television network, the Call Me Kat TV show is based on the British Miranda series. The U.S. sitcom stars Mayim Bialik, Swoosie Kurtz, Kyla Pratt, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Jordan, and Julian Gant. The story follows Kat (Bialik), a woman who struggles every day against society and her mother to prove that she can live a happy and fulfilling life — despite still being single at 39 years old. Kat’s mother, Sheila (Kurtz), views her daughter being single as her own personal failure. After leaving her job as a University of Louisville college professor, Kat spends the money her parents had set aside for her wedding to open a cat café. Working alongside Kat are Randi (Pratt) and Phil (Jordan). As Kat celebrates her independence, her single-forever plans begin to veer off-course. Her former crush and good friend, Max (Jackson), returns to town and takes a job as a bartender at the piano bar across the street and works with his friend, Carter (Gant).
Season One Ratings

Call Me Kat has been renewed for a second season which will debut on January 9, 2021. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Will FOX cancel or renew Call Me Kat for season two? Other than Last Man Standing (which is ending this year), the network doesn’t have any other live-action sitcoms. Typically, networks like to be able to pair new comedies with established ones so, unless FOX is abandoning that practice or doesn’t plan to introduce any new live-action comedies next season, I think this series has a good chance of being renewed. What do you think? Are you glad the Call Me Kat TV show has been renewed for a second season? How would you feel if FOX had cancelled this TV series, instead?
I love this show! Great cast! Funny and subtle life lessons shown and great chemistry with the actors they are a joy to watch This show is needed it’s light hearted and fun and should be given more time to grow its audience
Call you Crazy if you think this crap is funny!
Keep watching this because I love cats, but most of the time they’re off camera. I just keep hoping they’ll be featured more on each episode, won’t care if it gets cancelled at the rate it’s going.
I’m sorry… but this show in unwatchable. It’s just terrible. I tried to watch it and I didn’t laugh a single time. Seriously. I rarely get through a few minutes of BBT without laughing at something… Good writing matters!
wow…you couldn’t even find anything funny on BBT?
Please, please don’t cancel Call Me Kat. Her comedy is great and I also love Leslie Jordan. Plus, Swoosie Kurtz is very funny. The chemistry is great between the actors. Finally, I love how they all wave goodbye at the end. Quite refreshing!! Thank you!
This past week 2/11 it lost another 500,000 viewers to being just a little over 2 million. Unless it’s doing well on the digital side of things, I think Fox might dump it, sadly. It’s lost 1.3 million viewers since it’s 2nd episode.
MOM on CBS on the other hand did BETTER this week – which I think where the lost 500,000 viewers ended up.
Herb, I think Fox should keep Call Me Kat!! We’ve got a group that has talked about it, vs the boring sitcom something 2 do about Mom or sumpthing or other? Call Me Kat has a lot of cute and funny situations and SWOOZIE KURTZ’S Character really puts some great zing in the zingers vs the last show Swoozie’s character didn’t go very well with what was going on with the nursing home thing!! The 16 of us in r group feel very strongly on keeping Call Me Kat FOX needs 2 realize that a LOT OF FOLKS these days… Read more »
I strongly disagree. If Call Me Kat stays on the air I really doubt with this world. This is no real fun, all overacted cause it is trying too hard to be anything. It would leave a shame to all the great sitcoms you have mentioned that have gone to soon. Sorry but it’s true. This has nothing to do with shows being recorded. I hope FOX makes the only and right decision.
ONLY and right decision? do you work for Fox?
I love this show. I am actually excited for each weeks new episodes. I could see call me Kat going past season 2. It is funny and enjoyable. I really and truly hope they make a session 2. I would be bummed out if they canceled after season 1.
Please renew! I love this show!
Please boost ratings so funny and good love this show look forward good sitcom not much on these days ever since this past summer. More people worth watching every episode.
Please stop repeating this comment. Makes no sense
This is possibly one of the worst cast shows on TV.
It is not the least bit funny, I can tell you the next words coming out of any of the actors mouths, and the whole concept of the show leaves me wondering, ‘Who pays these people for these Lame Ideas’…..
She was good in BBT, ONLY, because the writing and plots were well thought out.
I personally wouldn’t mind if that show gets cancelled. Actually I hope so. I have been a huge fan of Amy Farrah Fowler on Big Bang and I miss it. This is just silly and rather sense nor happy makeing. I wanted it to work but it made me more cry than laugh so far from being upcheering or light hearted. Big no. It is more annoying than anything.
I’m A fan of her previous role BBT, but this is too silly for me. The talking to the audience is not work able and is annoying. Plus, where are the cats promised in the teasers. Hope it dies a gentle death, and soon.
if you find it silly, and are going to compare it to TBBT,then don’t watch it…nothing wrong with changing channels.
Haven’t seen it yet, looking forward to watching it.
Can’t wait for it so darn funny love it so darn funny it awesome please boost ratings on Thursday night at 9pm look forward to seeing it.
It was pretty bad!
Don’t know who the actress is but she’s really sweet. But it was really boring. I tried to watch all new shows twice. Not sure but I will try after all, they almost cancelled Star Trek. I think it’s just too close to reality.
so…you don’t like real things…
