TV show description:
A new take on the family comedy, this series divides each episode into quarters. One quarter focuses on a branch of the Short family before bringing them together for the conclusion.
At the top of the family tree are John (James Brolin) and Joan (Dianne Wiest). Although in their twilight years, the pair are still very much in love and aren’t shy about their active sex life. John, about to turn 70, worries he hasn’t much time left and obsesses with his own funeral plans.
In his early thirties, Matt (Thomas Sadoski) still lives at home. This arrangement is proving awkward for his own romantic affairs with co-worker Colleen (Angelique Cabral). Her ex-fiance and dog are struggling to come to terms with the breakup.
Highly traumatized by the horror of childbirth are first-time parents Greg (Colin Hanks) and Jen (Zoe Lister-Jones). They are also shocked to have been released from the hospital with a newborn baby and no training manual.
Taking their son Tyler (Niall Cunningham) to University, eldest sibling Heather (Betsy Brandt) and her husband Tim (Dan Bakkedahl) are also dealing with change. Reluctantly letting their son fly from the nest, Tyler is packed off with a sandwich and some fatherly advice on losing his virginity. Both are unwelcome.
Episode #79 — Reverse Burden District Germany
When Tim and Heather realize that being grandparents is very far off in the future, they decide to have another baby. Also, Joan gets frustrated when she keeps getting tasked with watching the grandkids; Jen and Greg decide to look for a new house; and Matt gets a job offer in Germany, which is problematic for Colleen and Lucas.
First aired: June 27, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the Life in Pieces TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fifth season?
The best new show this season.
I love this show!!!
Love the show something that makes you laugh at everyday situations.
We LOVE this show! Makes you laugh after a long day at the office.
Love this show!!!
Terrible show! Really bad.
This show is outrageously funny, edgy, and I love the sub stories. I hope that the show stays on the air. I get so tired of developing a real liking for a comedy and then have it cancelled.
I do not find this show entertaining at all.
I really like this show. I am anxious to see Hunter king ontonights episode.
I love the Colin Hanks and Zoe Loster-Jones part of the show. I wish the show just centered on them. They are hilarious and have great chemistry. I could watch their comedic banter for hours! <3
How about the Handyman- recurring character ? Hilarious!!!
Show sucks
Right there with you Greg. This show is absolute garbage. Cbs so rarely gets it right. It’s a shame because I love Colin Hanks. But the acting and writing is so terrible. Particularly the girl who plays Thomas Sadoski’s gf. I hope this gets cancelled ASAP.
Please stop watching this. Watch Dancing With The Stars or something else on at the same time instead. Just not this. I hope it gets cancelled.
After to items episode I agree. We don’t need another show that insults women, obsesses over breasts, and makes fun of women, in general. Because of a top notch cast I expected better. They’ve been abused by the writers.
We think Life in Pieces, is nothing more than disgusting verbal porn.. Why would such credible actors and actresses subject themselves to such offensive dialogue. There is no moral point to the show.. It is full of sexualize situations and talk and contain little meaning if any. It is a shame that the network could not put together a family movie and leave the sexualized conversation/situations out of it.. Whatever happened to good, clean, morally uplifting sitcoms.. They have succumbed to endless mindless sex talk.. Do the right thing, and create a good clean show.. Your network would have so… Read more »
I’m really enjoying Life in Pieces. It’s a great comedy without a bunch of “You must accept this change to society to watch our shows” crap shoved in for political agendas Hollywood seems to love lately. Crisp writing, decent acting for the pilot. I particularly loved the comment about how the hospital should lose their license for letting new parents go home with a baby unsupervised ROFL!
Hope it’s renewed. It’s about time CBS had a hit with a decent comedy.
I couldn’t agree more. Love the show!!
