CBS is making another move ahead of the return of several of its popular 2020-21 shows. The series is shortening the season of several of its shows, including NCIS: Los Angeles, The Neighborhood, Blue Bloods, Bull, Magnum P.I., NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, and SEAL Team.
NCIS: Los Angeles and The Neighborhood will each air 18 episodes, and the rest have had their episode counts lowered to 16 episodes, per Deadline.
CBS is still in talks with outside studios about the number of installments for Mom, Young Sheldon, Bob Hearts Abishola, B Positive, All Rise, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and SWAT. The Unicorn had an initial 13-episode order and will stay at that number.
The pandemic shut down and shortened seasons last spring, so it is not a complete surprise that the same has happened this season, especially with delayed returns for CBS and the other networks.

Just another example of CBS corporate greed. Cutting the number of episodes for quality programming is not the answer to falling profits. If anything, they should increasing the number of episodes. Negotiate with the actors, producers and such to reduce overhead.
We need our detective shows.

I think it’s unfortunate that CBS feels the need to shorten these shows. We are all looking forward to these shows coming back. years ago NCIS use to do 22-24 episodes a season and now it’s cut to 16. I’m not a happy fan!
I will be turning more to movies. CBS sponsors will be the losers.

Why do the powers that be think is necessary to shorten the # of episodes on shows that r well like n receive by us the viewer. We have waited long enough n have been loyal viewers of the shows.

Not happy because I really look forward to these shows. We had to wait longer for the show’s to come back and now you want to shorten them. Not happy
These are all my favorite shows!!! I would not like them being cut short or cancelled!!! I waited all summer for them to come back. My husband and I are both disabled and watch a lot of CBS.
Well I’m understand that we are not having the same way of life because of covid-19, but I believe is not necessary to cut the season short when no matter what they had to shoot all other episode what is the difference of 16 from 18 regular episode.
