The Tiffany network is sticking with the Reagan family. CBS has renewed its Blood Bloods TV show for a ninth season. Although the police procedural has fallen in the ratings and has never been a strong performer in the coveted 18-49 year old viewer demo, it always draws a large total audience, even on Friday nights, when viewership tends to dip.
A CBS family drama, Blue Bloods stars Tom Selleck, Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget Moynahan, Will Estes, Len Cariou, Marisa Ramirez, Sami Gayle, and Vanessa Ray. The police procedural centers on the Irish-American Reagans, a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (Selleck) leads both the police force and his brood.
Blue Bloods: A Look at the Ratings
The eighth season of Blue Bloods is averaging a 0.92 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.21 million viewers. Compared to season seven, that’s down by 26% and down by 12%, respectively. Thanks to its poor performance in the demo, Blue Bloods ranks 18th out of the 25 scripted CBS TV shows we’re tracking. However, when we sort by average total viewership, it rises to fifth place.

What do you think? Do you still enjoy the Blue Bloods TV series? Did you think CBS would cancel or renew it for season nine? Let us know, below.
yes.. I would.like to see the series renewed for a month season. I have yet to see season 8, I’m waiting for it to become available on streaming platform. Usually Hulu has it available by now but it’s not yet. Netflix runs behind a season. I’m looking forward to seeing it and also a nineth season too.. Thank you for keeping g it going..
Yes our family loves the show however we do wish “Linda” was still on and that it did not end the way did and could have used Johnny drama more often take a different spin on him. I hope to see the next season soon and won’t be disappointed season eight to me was a let down redeem by comming up with stories that the average public can relate too
I love watching Blue Bloods ‘ Great show keep it going please
Don’t change a thing
Yes! People from Guam love Blue Bloods!
Yes! We love Blue Bloods at our house. My 16 year old son recently started watching Blue Bloods and is looking forward to the next season!
I’ll watch Tom Selleck any day over all the others..CLASS ACT
So happy Blue Bloods renewed. It’s my quality time with my 19 yr old son. We love the show and I enjoy our time together
Wife and I are happy to know season 9 is coming! Great show with nothing but good family values and a family that eats together. Hope we see the wedding of Eddie and Jamie. It goes without saying the cop part is the best.
How do you decide how many people watch it? I watch constantly. However, I tape it so I can watch it without adds. Adds are too far fetched for me. I love Blue Bloods and I hope it goes on for years to come.
Great show if you move its night you just might see the ratings improve. Hawaii 5-0 sucks lately and there has been so many cast changes. If i had to vote Blue Bloods would win hands down.
I’m also a big fan, everyone has placed the appropriate amount of praise on this show. I dvr this show and have a season pass. It is definitely a great show, but I wish sometimes it wouldn’t tie up neatly in a hour, have some carry over shows with good plots.
Can’t waut for season 9 finally Jamie and eddy are together they couldn’t cancel after that season finale!!!
Have loved Blue Bloods from the onset. It is a rare treat, with family values, moral principals and faith-based actions, all in one. Not many shows like it – we look forward to each episode.
I could’nt have said it better myself. Loved this show from day 1. We need more shows like this, one proudly showing strong moral and family values.
Having lived in NYC I love seeing familiar landmarks throughout the City. Tim Selleck & Will Estes are pleasing to the eye and the Sunday family dinners always bring a satisfying tear to the eye – my favorite all time show!
I love the show and has been getting better over time. So glad that it was renewed.
