What’s This TV Show About?
An HBO comedy-drama, Here and Now stars Tim Robbins, Holly Hunter, Jerrika Hinton, Daniel Zovatto, Raymond Lee, Sosie Bacon, Andy Bean, Joe Williamson, Peter Macdissi, Avynn Crowder-Jones, Stephanie Arcila, and Erin Carufel. The series centers on a progressive white couple, Greg (Robbins) and Audrey (Hunter), and their multi-ethnic brood, as well as a contemporary Muslim psychiatrist (Macdissi). While they don’t always make the best choices in this world gone mad, they’re all struggling to live authentically in the here and now, because that’s all there is.

Will HBO cancel or renew Here and Now for season two? The ratings haven’t been good but HBO doesn’t really worry about those. They’re interested in attracting and keeping members by giving the perception that viewers can’t find their quality of programming anywhere else. It’s a gigantic piece of crap. Get rid of this turkey. Alan Ball should be spanked for producing this garbage. I expected much more from the creator of Six Feet Under. Even True Blood was high art compared to this turkey. Why did I waste 10 hours of my life hoping it would improve?

I am totally on board with Here and Now. Alan Ball does good family drama, and it’s just a solid show with a solid cast. Give me a few more seasons for sure.
I am Iranian-Canadian and thought to leave a short comment and correction of your article. psychiatrist is not Muslim. he is identified by his distaste of the religion. The wife and son are Muslim. It is in fact relatively accurate depiction. Iranians (father) are somewhat secular arabs (wife) are culturally Muslim and faithful.
Iranians are Persians, not “Ay-rubs”!
More please. I love the series… great cast, great writing, intriguing story line. I watch the episodes over during the week and really look forward to Sunday nights. I’m a huge Alan Ball fan, I loved 6FT Under.
I love this show and be so sad if it were cancelled. It’s gotten stronger every week. I particularly care about Ramon, Farid, Kristen, and Navid. Please allow them to live on and tell their beautiful, unique stories. I was unfamiliar with Peter Macdissi’s work prior to Here and Now. He’s brilliant.

I would be disappointed. Love the ensemble, the story lines (though some are a little off, still interesting) and look forward to each episode. I googled immediately after tonight’s episode (3/25) when it stated “only three episodes left” without noting whether it would be a season or series finale, leaving me wondering.
I love the show and the cast is phenomenal. Would like to see where all this craziness with Ramone is going …
