Hot and Bothered and Superstore are set to arrive on NBC during mid-season, but the network announced on Monday that they had reduced the episode orders for both series from 13 to 11.
According to Variety, NBC revealed that the reason for the reduction was not due to their faith in the new shows, but the fact that the network has a lot of programming that they are having difficult fitting into their weekly schedule.
“The decision was made to trim those orders because the shows are not filming yet and thus can more easily make the adjustment in their production schedules. More of NBC’s midseason series may also pare back episodes.”
Hot and Bothered is new Eva Longoria comedy that made a big splash at the NBC Upfront back in May. No exact premiere dates for either series have been set, but the comedies will likely arrive on NBC in March or April.
