What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS crime thriller, based on the James Patterson novel, Murder Games, Instinct stars Alan Cumming, Bojana Novakovic, Daniel Ings, Naveen Andrews, and Sharon Leal. The drama centers on Dr. Dylan Reinhart (Cumming), a former CIA operative who is lured out of his peaceful retirement as a university professor and author, to help NYPD Detective Lizzie Needham (Novakovic) catch a serial killer. Dylan’s old CIA colleague, Julian Cousins (Andrews), lends a hand, along with Lizzie’s C.O., Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Leal). Meanwhile, Dylan’s husband, Andy (Ings), worries his spouse has forsaken their agreement to permanently leave his past in the past.
Season One Ratings

Telly’s Take
Will CBS cancel or renew Instinct for season two? The demo ratings have been quite poor but total viewership is pretty good. I suspect the show will be cancelled but the total viewer numbers could save it. For now, I’ll keep an eye on the Nielsens and update this page with breaking developments. I absolutely love this show! Allan Cummings is a personal favorite, but that is not the main reaso. The show is very well written and acted. I love all of the characters. I hope that this show runs for several more seasons. I know that I will watch it.

Totally love this program, actors, plot. I’m an mystery fan and this is now the top of my list. This is a first ever I’ve chased down where I could leave a note: don’t cancel it.
Really enjoy this show. Good plot, entertaining and not all the fake shooting and violent scenes that so many shows have. Actors are very good.
CBS should put the new Star Trek in this time slot on TV. Instinct is a terrible show! Please cancel it.
I usually watch 60 Minutes but change the channel when NCIS or whatever comes on but stayed put to see what Instinct was exactly. Tuned in ever since and now when NCIS comes on, I change the channel. The twists in the line of reasoning when determining whodunnit is as refreshing as recent revivals of Sherlock Holmes…and how it’s so easy to be wrong about people when you base your opinions on appearance alone. Deductive reasoning plus observation beats out superficial appearance every time and I can hardly wait for this show to come back on the air.
Good show, interesting characters. Should be renewed.
