What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Magnum PI stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill. This reboot of the 1980s TV show follows Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL who repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. He lives in a guest cottage on Robin’s Nest, the luxurious estate where he works as a security consultant to supplement his P.I. business. The “majordomo” of the property is Juliet Higgins (Weeks), a beautiful and commanding disavowed MI:6 agent who keeps Magnum in line. When Magnum needs back-up on a job, he turns to his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors, chopper pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin (Hill) and Orville “Rick” Wright (Knighton), a former Marine door-gunner who now runs a nightclub. Magnum frequently has run-ins with police detective Gordon Katsumoto (Kang) and the two are more alike than either cares to admit. The unofficial “House Mom” and cultural curator of Robin’s Nest, Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta (Hill) is also one of Magnum’s biggest fans.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Magnum PI averages a 0.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.69 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% in the demo and down by 16% in viewership. Find out how Magnum PI stacks up against other CBS TV shows.

Will CBS cancel or renew Magnum PI for season four? This series hasn’t been a great performer for the network but CBS needs newer shows and this one fits in well with the other Friday night series. Very pleased to see Magnum PI renewed for 4th season, think they need to make Higgins more presentable (like years past) but still great acting & story lines, a great Friday night show.

Very happy that it’s renewed. It’s a very entertaining show. The scenery is beautiful and when I watch it I put myself there, I love the show
Best thing about last nights Show (04/15/21) was Rick’s Shirt in the opening scene with “The Wings”, the “Elvis Shirt” from “Blue Hawaii” reprised by ‘Direction’ circa, early millennia, have the same shirt. That said Rick, TC, Kumu and Katsumoto hold the Show together, the original casting trying to be cute with Higgins, has been a stumbling block, that they’ve tried to extricate themselves out of for 3 Seasons, Higgins was a ‘Foil’, Hernandez, should have been Rick and Knighton, Thomas! Writing needs consistency and improvement, Lenkov as with Five-0, all about guns and too many Characters for 45-46 minutes!
I am thrilled that Magnum PI has been renewed. I really like the cast, and the location shoots are beautiful. So much better than cop series in LA or filthily NYC. It doesn’t hurt that Hegans is one hot 35 year old “babe” – LOL
Since Magnum PI is renewed for season 4 Will Ali return?
I’m thrilled this series has been renewed! It’s matured a lot, the cast works well together. The guest characters are intersection, the action and mystery aspect aren’t predictable for dialogue or action which keeps me interested in watching this show “first”, so the tablet and cell phone are off throughout the show. Thank you for renewing this series! Here’s hoping for a 20 episode season!
I love this show! Its funny, sweet, action all rolled into one. I keep hoping to hear its gotten renewed for another season!
I really hope Magnum PI is renewed for season 4. It is the only show I watch on Friday nights and love it.
