What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the CBS television network, Magnum PI stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephen Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill. This reboot of the 1980s TV show follows Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), a decorated former Navy SEAL who repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator. He lives in a guest cottage on Robin’s Nest, the luxurious estate where he works as a security consultant to supplement his P.I. business. The “majordomo” of the property is Juliet Higgins (Weeks), a beautiful and commanding disavowed MI:6 agent who keeps Magnum in line. When Magnum needs back-up on a job, he turns to his trusted buddies and fellow POW survivors, chopper pilot Theodore “TC” Calvin (Hill) and Orville “Rick” Wright (Knighton), a former Marine door-gunner who now runs a nightclub. Magnum frequently has run-ins with police detective Gordon Katsumoto (Kang) and the two are more alike than either cares to admit. The unofficial “House Mom” and cultural curator of Robin’s Nest, Teuila “Kumu” Tuileta (Hill) is also one of Magnum’s biggest fans.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Magnum PI averages a 0.52 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.69 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 20% in the demo and down by 16% in viewership. Find out how Magnum PI stacks up against other CBS TV shows.

Will CBS cancel or renew Magnum PI for season four? This series hasn’t been a great performer for the network but CBS needs newer shows and this one fits in well with the other Friday night series. Is there going to be a Series 5? I hope so as CBS really cannot leave it until Thomas and Juliet tie the knot. The way it is written would suggest that there is more to come from that relationship!
Please renew a season 5 (6-20). There are very few family shows with good language and higher values. Plus, the veteran aspect is so rare. The show is well written and the characters work seamlessly together. Not to mention Hawaiian history, the beauty of the island is filmed unlike other shows which display the ugliness found anywhere. UNIQUE!
I love Magnum and have watched all the original ones many times. I also love the new cast and am part way through Series 2 and 3 via Amazon Prime as I live in the UK.
I’m looking forward to seeing Series 4 eventually, and hope they will make another next year. Let’s hope Magnum and Higgins get together as Magnum obviously fancies her even though she is usually rather condescending to him.
The best one on TV Higgins and Magnum have to.get together and married .Take them through a whirl wind relationship. To prove their love for each other . Wish I was the writer it would never be cancelled. before it cancels please.
Magnum PI is a good show and should be renewed. The female Higgins character gives it a special twist. However, we need to lose the Ethan character. Jay Hernandez isn’t Tom Selleck but who is.Hernandez is an adequate magnum!
I would like to see Magnum and Higgins get more involved in a romantic relationship and leave Ethan out of the country.

I think there is less viewership because people don”t like Higgys boyfriend Ethan ! I think that most people find the guy weird and why Higgy would want to go with a guy like that is irrational and tasteless in people”s minds when people would rather watch Higgy and Magnum battle it out every week till a love finally in the end of the show after 10 seasons …..thats what people want to see..sure you can make a few episodes with either Higgy or magnum going on dates with other people , to get each other jealous and maybe closer… Read more »
