Get ready to say good-bye to The Jim Jeffries Show. Comedy Central is ending the series at the end of its third season. The final episode of the series airs later this month. The weekly series has Jeffries sharing his unique views on politics and the world with his viewers.
A spokesperson for Comedy Central said the following about ending the series, per Deadline:
“The Jim Jefferies Show will air its final episode on November 19, concluding a brilliant three-year run on Comedy Central. We thank Jim and the team for bringing us a unique and international approach to culture and politics. We look forward to developing more projects with Jim in the future.”
This will likely not be the last time television viewers see Jim Jeffries on the small screen. NBC is developing a comedy with Jim Jeffrey as the lead. That series is coming from Suzanne Martin, Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s Hazy Mills and Universal TV. Jeffries will write the new series with Martin.
The sitcom “stars Jefferies as a fictionalized version of himself, offering his unique take on modern life and the complexity of relationships.”
What do you think? Are you sad to see the end of The Jim Jeffries Show? Would you watch his new comedy series if it makes it to air on NBC?
Absolutely gutted. This was a quality alternative to John Oliver’s ‘Last Week Tonight’ when that show started getting repetitive and tired, I think Jim’s a much funnier comedian too. At least he’s working on another show…
Really really sorry go head this news. We have avidly followed this show and always sorry each time the season ended. We were sure we misheard him so looked up the news. We will certainly check out any new shoe he does.
You’ll love his new shoe- word is it’s a wingtip!
I love this show and look forward to it each week. I will really miss it. Yeah I’ll probably watch the new show, but just like Stephen Colbert whose new show isn’t nearly as good as the Colbert report, I hope that doesn’t happen with Jim Jeffries.
I am really disappointed! I truly enjoyed laughing and learning things from the Jim Jeffries Show. Why can’t Comedy Central stand behind some of these smart, but hilarious series? It took quite awhile for the Daily Show to find its footing. If the current Management of the Network had been in place when that show started, they would have cancelled it too. I only watch a very few shows on Comedy Central. I watched The Jim Jeffries Show. I currently watch The Daily Show, and I am beginning to really like David Spade’s talk Show. Basically, I like shows that… Read more »
I truly enjoyed the way Jim sliced to the core of an issue and his logical and hilarious way of describing it. I will miss him a lot. Hopefully he will pass through my city again for a show or 2. And of course I will watch the new sitcom. It could become a classic as those collaborating are awesome talents as well. Good luck Jim and thanks so much for all the laughs.
This is why we can’t have nice things. I like him in his sitcoms. But Jim Jeffrie’s more vital as a commentator, especially in the coming year. Otherwise, you’re left with the poor man’s Jon Stewart, Trevor Noah, who’s more interested in hosting than in news.
Thank goodness we still have John Oliver.
Bummer loved his show.☹️
I am so sad that The Jim Jeffries show is cancelled. Love the show and loved going to a taping of the show.
I love this show. NBC sitcom? No f-bombs? Oh well. Sorry to see it go. Maybe he can take over for Fallon when the network dumps that idiot stooge.
Very sorry to hear. The funniest show on TV. Very disappointing.
I really enjoyed the way Jim skewered sacred cows of all types, and his irreverent interviews were always a delight. As someone else commented, we had his show for longer than expected, so we can’t complain too much.
Absolutely zero reason to watch upcoming NBC comedy. The level of censorship/editing/political correctness that Jim Jefferies would have to endure to be on network television!
Try to picture his FXX series Legit being neutered enough to pass NBC standards & practices. Nope. Not worth it.
Terrible decision. Jim’s show is great. Very disappointing.
For me, Jim’s third season was not nearly as interesting as the first two seasons. Furthermore, it seems that he has strongly increased his use of vulgar language—with foul words in almost every sentence, which truly becomes boring and off-putting. I became increasingly disappointed.
Jefferies had already 2 more seasons than he himself expected with this show. So he did something right!
