CBS is making another move ahead of the return of several of its popular 2020-21 shows. The series is shortening the season of several of its shows, including NCIS: Los Angeles, The Neighborhood, Blue Bloods, Bull, Magnum P.I., NCIS, NCIS: New Orleans, and SEAL Team.
NCIS: Los Angeles and The Neighborhood will each air 18 episodes, and the rest have had their episode counts lowered to 16 episodes, per Deadline.
CBS is still in talks with outside studios about the number of installments for Mom, Young Sheldon, Bob Hearts Abishola, B Positive, All Rise, FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, and SWAT. The Unicorn had an initial 13-episode order and will stay at that number.
The pandemic shut down and shortened seasons last spring, so it is not a complete surprise that the same has happened this season, especially with delayed returns for CBS and the other networks.

I understand but those of us that has followed the show for years don’t want to be short changed.

Understandable, considering that there are still “hotspots” of the virus in many states including my state of Missouri. Just need everyone to be safe. NCIS is my favorite and ONLY CBS show I watch. Have every season thus far on DVD. Excitedly waiting for Season 18.
Don’t bite the hand that feeds you!!! NCIS, NCIS:LA, BLUE BLOODS, SWAT, SEAL TEAM, FBI, FBI:MOST WANTED, these are your bread & butter!!! Take care of these (US!) or you may find us gone to another network!!!
I understand the dilemma but this is your job. We all have problems, deal with it. Blue Bloods, Magnum PI and Young Sheldon among others, keep us safe and off the streets. Not to mention why we pay outrageous cable bills.
I am disappointed they are cutting Bluebloods. It’s one of the best shows on tv.

I am an avid fan of Bull and all the CSI Series. I don’t have a problem with shortening the episodes but please do not cancel them. Actually I like all of your other esipodes that you want to shorten. The two forementioned are my favorites.
I am so upset, we have already had a year where we have been restricted and now less to watch on TV? NCIS is to good to cut episodes, especially since Ziva has appeared once in awhile!! STOP CUTTING OUR SHOW!!!

Why shorten seris when not only do people that work on this shows need employment like the crew, not to mention the fact we are all being advised to stay home then atleast give us something Decent to watch!! Here in the UK the studios are adding episodes but unfortunately they are shows I don’t watch! I’m stuck working from home and can’t go out in the evening due to a medical issue and need something to distance from work during the day. not really a big surprise, expected a shorter season ( hope it means when the sell th season next year on disc / streaming, the price is a bit lower as well ) but 16 nis a bit too short , 18 should be the number
How can you cancel some of the best shows around now. That is 3 of my main shows i watch. Please dont take Blue Bloods and Ncis off. These are good shows
