Days of Our Lives fans were in an uproar on Tuesday after a report surfaced that the series was shutdown. The 54-year-old soap opera airs on NBC, and it is one of the few daytime soaps still on the air.
Per The Wrap, cast members on set went to their social media accounts immediately to calm the fans down. The original report came from TV Line, and it said that the producers had released all the actors from their contracts and shut down production on the NBC soap.
Kristian Alfonso jumped onto her Instagram to show herself on the Days of Our Lives set with one of the writers on the show.

We’re still here #; ) #❤ #xo #days @carlivatiron @nbc #kindness lots of #love
Another cast member, Chandler Massey, also went on social media to say that production was ahead of schedule, so the cast and crew was going on a hiatus. With it being the holiday season, a hiatus from production is not out of the question.
NBC will decide the fate of Days of Our Lives in early 2020. It could still be canceled at that time, but for now fans can rest easy. The series has not been canceled yet.
What do you think? Are you a fan of the daytime soap? Do you want more of Days of Our Lives in 2020?
Please don’t cancel Days! We love all the characters and the everyday storylines, but skipping into the future a year ahead is to far off the scale of reality. It is called “Days of our lives” and it makes the show more interesting to stay on script from day to day so that the fans have an interest in the characters lives and what happens from one event to the other. By moving it a year in advance this has made the show ridiculous to watch because all we are seeing is flashbacks of what was supposed to have happened.… Read more »
Kathy Dopirak please please do not cancel, I have been watching Days from the time it hit the air waves back in 1965 when it was just a half hour then it went to an hr in the late 70s. I was at Camp Lajune in NC , when I went to work I

I began watching Days of our lives when I was 16 so I would have something to bond with my grandmother, who BTW watched it from day one until the day she died. She did not miss one day! If you were out with her, she had to be home by the time that her Days came on. I was sixteen at the time. After my Grandmother died, I continued watching because my Mother and I would talk about it and say what Gramma would say to what was happening. My Mother has passed away now and I feel that… Read more »

It would be heart breaking if we lose Days!!! I have watched since I was a kid, early 1970’s. When I was working and couldn’t watch, I recorded it, so I didn’t miss anything. Those people are like family and alot of people would miss them.
I watched Days with my momma, my daughters watched it with me and now my granddaughter watches it with her mom. Keep the tradition going! Days has been on the air for decades and still has a lot of life left!
I watched this with my mom daily and when I left home I get up in the mornings at 3 a.m. and turn on the dvr fast forward through commercials for my daily dose of Days of Our Lives. Please don’t take it off the air-this is “ME” time!!!! I will miss the show and the memories that I had watching it with my mom growing up running home from the bus stop just to watch the show..or scheduling college classes around the time of the story so I wouldn’t miss it. The only time I did was when the… Read more »
I’ve watched Days since the beginning in 1965. Please don’t cancel it!! I watched others, too, but Days is my main stay. Thru all the highs & lows of it, I can’t wait to see what happens next, good or bad.
Days of Our Lives is the only soap I watch. I would totally miss if if it was cancelled. I am actually sad to be missing it today due to impeachment broadcasting It’s my go to show Mon-Fri where I actually turn off my computer and enjoy the show rather than just having the tv on in the background while I am working,
I have watched DOOL since the 1970s and would miss my daily dose of the show…please do whatever it takes to keep this program on the air.
