TV show description:
From creator Paul William Davies, the For the People TV show is a Shondaland legal drama. The story unfolds at “The Mother Court,” i.e. the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.
The series centers on six accomplished attorneys, who work on both sides of the law. Whether they represent the defense or the people, these young lawyers ply their trade trying some of the most publicized cases, and in federal court, the stakes can be sky high.
Public defenders Sandra Bell (Robertson) and Allison Adams (Brown) are best friends. They work for Federal Public Defender Jill Carlan (Davis), along with their colleague, Jay Simmons (Keesh).
Their opponent, Roger Gunn (Shenkman), serves as the chief of the Criminal Division in the United States Attorney’s Office. Gunn oversees prosecutors Seth Oliver (Rappaport), Leonard Knox (Page) and Kate Littlejohn (Flood).
Their arguments are heard by Judge Nicholas Byrne (Curtis-Hall), who presides over some of the most controversial cases before the court. Meanwhile, Clerk of Court Tina Krissman (Smith) makes sure everyone stay in line.
As their lives overlap outside of court, as well as at work, these young lawyers will face some of the biggest personal and professional challenges of their careers, at the most prestigious trial court in the U.S.A.
Series Finale:
Episode #20 — A Choice Between Two Things
On Election Day, Jay turns to Kate and the team for help after his parents and other voters are illegally intimidated at their polling place. Meanwhile, Roger and Jill’s relationship is at an impasse when Sandra learns that they are romantically involved and challenges Jill’s judgment. Elsewhere, Seth gets assigned to the case of a lifetime, but his anxiety increases when he is appointed a bodyguard to help protect him, all while Sandra and Ted take their relationship up a notch on the season finale of “For The People,” THURSDAY, MAY 16 (10:00-11:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network, streaming and on demand.
First aired: May 16, 2019.
What do you think? Do you like the For the People TV series? Should this TV show have been cancelled or renewed for a third season on ABC?
Yet another show we love & it’s cancelled !
You may be looking to entertain the millennials, but in reality ?? It’s the baby boomers who are watching ! Don’t cancel this!! It’s an insiteful show where lawyers actually go out of their way to help without it being all about $$.
Great cast !!
Keep this show !!
My husband and I are 2 avid watchers of the show For the People. Looked forward to watching every week. Well casted, excellent plots, good climatic points in every show. Really hope the show runs longer!
I love the show, they are good lawyers helping people, you do not see that very much.
Why is that ABC cancelling this show, I love the show and this is a breathe of fresh air on a Thursday nights to watch instead of all this weird shows. Please consider renewing this show.
Love this show, Awsome cast and story lines . Best on ABC
Really great show. I think the writing and the actors keep me watching. Please keep going. This is a good series worth watching.
This show: (1) Should not be on a Friday night; (2) is an weekly argument for “inclusion, merits of the Constitution, friendship, intelligence & emphathy; (3) has quality acting, storylines, and is informative while entertaining. ABC is out-of-touch. ~ CC King-CO
This is a great show! Outstanding cast, well written, intelligent; one of the best TV shows available IMO. I agree that it just did not get enough publicity or attention! I hope this show is NOT cancelled.
Great show.
Just needs more time for people to find it. Feels like premature cancellation like they did with ‘my so called life “. This is a good show !
Love this show. One of the few shows that demonstrate enemies in the courtroom are not enemies outside the courtroom.
Love this show, its unique with good stories and great talents. Did not get enough publicity then cancelled!
One of my favorite shows! I actually suggested my mom watch it. She hadn’t heard of it even though the second season had started.. She streamed the first season and fell in love with it. It’s now her favorite show..
This is a great show please keep it playing!
An amazing show. Keep it ok.
Definitely Continue this show- excellent themes, writing and engaging acting.
I just finished watching Season 2 episode 2. What a shame you tried to convince the audience that ICE is all bad. Why wasn ‘t it emphasized that he broke the law to come into the country. If we break laws there are consequences. The description of where the little boy would be taken indicating he wouldn’t even have shoes to wear, really?
Tell the writers not to push their agenda of border security views into the show and it will be more enjoyable to watch. Cool concept of a new series, don’t blow it.
Ripping families apart is not American, nor is it what Jesus would do.. And yes it happens everyday..
I think ABC is making such a mistake, For The People is a great show, the storylines are wonderful they mean something and give insight on the laws, take off another show like The Bachelor. Please keep this show its too important to take off .. I don’t understand.
