Heathers is on the outs again. Deadline reports Paramount Network has pulled episodes of the TV show following the recent shooting in Pittsburgh.
Based on the 1988 film, the dark comedy is set in the present day and follow Veronica Sawyer (Grace Victoria Cox), a girl dealing with her own group of vicious Heathers. The cast also includes Brendan Scannell, James Scully, Melanie Field, Jasmine Mathews, and original movie star Shannen Doherty.
Paramount has been airing edited episodes of the series, but Sunday night’s episodes were pulled in light of recent events. According to Deadline, the episodes in question “featured a storyline involving high school students undergoing active shooter training.”
Episodes seven and eight will remain available via VOD, on the Paramount app, and on the Paramount website. The remaining episode of Heathers will air as scheduled tonight.
