In October, NBC decided not to order any additional episodes of the low-rated series, Trauma, essentially canceling the show after 13 episodes. Then, a few weeks later, NBC ordered three additional installments, likely because they anticipated holes in their spring schedule and the show’s producers were able to significantly cut production costs.
The show’s been off the air since November but the network has now announced that it’s coming back. Is there a chance that the show could actually see a second season?
Taking place in San Francisco, Trauma follows a group of first responders who risk their lives to save others. The cast includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
The network recently announced that they were cancelling The Jay Leno Show as of February 12th. That means that, when NBC finishes airing its coverage of the Winter Olympics, the network will have five more hours of primetime to fill. That’s good news for Trauma.

NBC has announced that Trauma will be returning to Monday nights starting on March 8th. They’ve also just ordered three additional episodes, bringing the season total to 20. That means that there are 10 new episodes of Trauma to come.
If the new episodes of Trauma can attract significantly more viewers, the show might have a very good shot at being renewed — especially if the show can continue to be produced economically.
At the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour, Angela Bromstad, NBC’s Primetime Entertainment President, didn’t rule out the show having a future and the new episode order is certainly promising.
However, NBC has plans to beef up their pilot development for next season. The network will develop 10 dramas and eight half-hour comedies. For Trauma to get a spot on the 2010-11 schedule, the low-rated series will have to inspire more confidence than the new shows.
What do you think? Do you think Trauma has a real chance at survival or is it still doomed?

I love trauma and I also think Rabbitt is a cool character. I believe that this show will have a second season and that it will be better than Mercy which I love also but I think that Trauma is more exiting than mercy PLEASE
KEEP TRAUMA WE LOVE THE CHARACTERS AND THE STORIES AND
RABBITT IS HOTT
My family loves Trauma!! Yea some of it isn’t what really happens in the real world but its tv. So all you EMS people…. Go watch something else. I’ve been a nurse for a very long time and I still need my heroes!! Hope it stays on.
I’ve seen a lot of posts from people saying they don’t like Trauma & it should be cancelled including some from some EMTs & Paramedics. Feeling a little intimidated?? Some of us other medical people like the show & want it to stay on. If you don’t like it then go watch a reality show or something. NBC please keep Trauma on.

My friend came over and convinced me to watch it with her. I can’t believe I wasted 15 minutes trying to watch this crap, thinking I’d get busy tonight. All she wanted, or was hoping we would see her in there. I guess it’s because she was an extra or something. Luckily with my quick thinking, I told her I’d be right back to get chinese take-out, and purposely took forever. By the time I got back, it was over, and I’m glad it was. Too many medical shows out there already. The acting was horrible. I’ve seen high-school drama… Read more »
I get so frustrated with network TV sometimes. They finally air a good show, but never allow it to grow. They preempt the show constantly, taking the show off for 5 months. How is it supposed to develop a loyal audience when it’s not on regularly for its fans to find? The other game networks like to play is “switching time slots”. Again, making those loyal to the show playing the hunting game. No wonder good shows get cancelled.
Trauma is a great show and we are thrilled it is back!
I love the show! Keep it on!
I love trauma, i think the problem is the time slot. You are looking for great ratings when you put Trauma against 24 with Kiefer Sutherland which has always been a big hit show. Why don’t you change the day or time you put it on, like 10pm against CSI Miami, we all watch it because there is nothing else worth seeing in that time slot, and local fox has news, never like anything on ABC. Then I believe you are truly giving this show the chance it really deserves.
Cancel Trauma! Besides having the hot asian wannabe latin girl in there, this show sucks.
Even the trailer isn’t so appealing at all!
Cancel this!
Well, I just saw the commercial that Trauma will be back on.
This is a very unrealistic show, but I could use a few laughs watching it!
I’m glad it will be followed by SVU – a credible show!
hey ya’ll, better start writing in or what ever u do to keep trauma going they just camcelled the last 2 episodes we were supposed to do , keep in going thanks
Keep Trauma, keep Mercy, both two good shows. Don’t get me wrong, but Law & Order is played out, same thing each time, over that show. When it comes one i switch the channel, i would rather you cancel that than Trauma, love Rabbit, his character is the best on the show, keep the show on, and thanks for bringing Leno back to his regular time.
Love the tonight show with Jay Leno, but 10 was a horrible mistake.
I love Trauma, I’m so glad its back, i even missed “24” with K. Sutherland, which i have not missed an episode in all the seasons its been on tv. Please keep Trauma on, these are great characters, and the show is just like real life drame. Pleassssssssssssssse don’t cancel Trauma
Im so excited Trauma is back on!!! Hopefully it will STAY on. They can cancel some of the other boring shows.
