Last season, the Wynonna Earp TV show earned the type of ratings that saw other Syfy TV series cancelled, yet it was renewed for a third season. The supernatural drama also airs on Canada’s Space channel, which may well make it more of a bargain for the network. Can it build on those numbers this time around? Will Wynonna Earp be cancelled or renewed for season four? Stay tuned. **Status update, below.
A Syfy horror western, Wynonna Earp stars Melanie Scrofano in the title role. Shamier Anderson, Tim Rozon, and Dominique Provost-Chalkley also star. Based on the Beau Smith comic, the story centers on lawman Wyatt Earp’s demon-fighting great-great-granddaughter, who inherited his abilities, as well as his legendary gun. As a special agent of the US Marshals’ secret Black Badge Division, Wynonna works with her younger sister, Waverly (Provost-Chalkley), Agent Xavier Dolls (Anderson), and Doc Holliday (Rozon), to end to the Earp curse, for good.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: The second season of Wynonna Earp on Syfy averaged a 0.12 rating in the 18-49 year old demo and 499,000 total viewers.
What do you think? Do you like the Wynonna Earp TV series? Should it be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season on Syfy?

**2/22/19 Status Update: Syfy has reportedly renewed Wynonna Earp through season five, but financing for the fourth and fifth season in doubt. Details here.
Love this show! which means if I like it, it will be cancelled because America’s taste in entertainment SUCKS. American Idiotidol is a prime example of crappy TV.
Another instance of a show being artificially resuscitated to satisfy a small fringe audience out of fear.
Sad.
If it was supported by a vast majority of white males in the age range quoted it would have died long ago.
But noooo….networks are such cowards that they can justify any pusillanimous behavior to pander to a minority (and lose money) as long as they can claim it maintains their “image”.
Something seems wrongs with the ratings. Everything is green and there are a lot of #DIV/0! happening. Just letting the moderator know.
Thanks. There seems to be an issue with Google Docs right now. The data is still accurate but the formatting in the percentages columns is wonky.
Holy ****, all this negativity for Wynonna Earp. Let the fans be happy. Other shows with better viewers got cancelled, sucks for the fans of those. But Wynonna Earp has a huge social media presence.
Save the excuse’s this show has lost viewers every season despite being shown in 2 countries. The producer Emily Andras should have been shown the door awhile ago she does not know her core audience. This was a show that was suppose to be a mixture of the wild west and syfy with blood and gore and of course harsh language. What direction did she take well I would compare it to a really bad soap with a lot of time spent on a gay couple of women. One was straight but they switched her character to gay and gave… Read more »
These things I said are facts including their numbers they are right above this you can see for yourself. This is not and opinion but a frank and honest assessment of a show losing viewers and of a really terrible job by all in charge look up the orginal storyline and you will see the product they put out does not even come close to what they said the show was suppose to be about. The name Earp should be taken off this show they have dragged it thru the mud and it has nothing to do with the Earps… Read more »
Add to all that the sad misrepresentation (a MAPLE LEAF on a U.S. Marshal’s badge, ferchrsissake?). Yes, I know it sucks up to Canadians, but Wyatt Earp (like Tombstone) was NOT ever in Canada; he made fun of Ned Buntline’s long-barreled revolver except when he jokingly made use of it to conk drunks over the head (a fact which seems to have escaped the writers); “Peacemaker” is a generic name for a Colt .45 with a 6″ barrel, NOT a Buntline…the picture on Waverly’s wall was a MUZZLE LOADING revolver, not the cartridge using Colt. And ol’ Wyatt would roll… Read more »
i’m not sure what ratings you’re looking at but in the chart above, it’s very clear that the viewership hit half a million 4 times and has actually only dropped in viewership once this season
I’m not a fan of this show, but your whole “ratings / viewers” are slipping argument makes no sense. The show had only dropped by 4%, compared to shows that can drop by 60+% in season average, it’s doing really well. In fact, for THIS SEASON, it’s one of SyFy’s stronger performers.
Spot on. The show became too obsessed with the Waverly/police woman story and apart from that openly steals Buffy/Supernatural storylines. I actually thought season 2 improved on season 1, but 3 has been all about love angst and a bad guy we never see
As of this writing, the live ratings for this show are as pathetic as they have ever been. It is a disgrace that this show stays on the air(and will be back next season) while Colony and Shooter were cancelled. Is it because of the SJW agenda? This show never had the ratings lots of better shows that have been canceled had. There’s another show called Crazy Ex. That show is the Wynonna Earp of network TV. Atrocious ratings and it never was cancelled. Supposedly, this is its last season. We will see.
Am about to put this show in the wind as with all other tv shows am tired of seeing men and women kissing on each other
Please remember that the numbers don’t include SPACE Channel viewers watching at the same time. I’d imagine at least another 100k in tune in.
Despite the naysayers, ratings continue to climb even after the Shamier departure. The storytelling is addictive.
Climb? The show is averaging a 0.12 for live ratings. I’m not sure if it averaged 0.13 one season. These ratings were never acceptable for decades. They shouldn’t be acceptable now. Colony had better rating and was cancelled. Shooter has better ratings and was cancelled. Stop making excuses for shows that don’t belong on the air. You like it. Whoopee.
Lol I don’t like this show. But the fact is that, compared to other shows that are slipping by 50% per season, dropping by only 4% is what a lot of networks would rather have. Also, comparing ratings standards to decades ago? Less people are watching traditional TV, and there are more shows now to split the audience. To remain stable is more than you can ask for. When everything else is collapsing, and you remain where you rank, you DO look like the stronger performer, which is the case for this show.
This show is on SYFY, and SYFY is a joke. No advertiser should be advertising on this show. Not with a 0.12 live average. Sorry.
I am glad that the ratings are going up each week
How come the Demo went down but the Viewers went up for episode 3?
Love Wynonna Earp! Season 3 is looking so good so far. Hope the rating keeps going up!
The actual season premiere got a 0.12 and 415k viewers. That was on Friday. The Monday own was a sneak peek. And it aired at 11pm.
Regardless of what Syfy called it, last Monday was the first time the season three premiere episode aired. Later airings of that same episode are reruns. Hope that helps.
So, will 3×01 numbers be updated considering July 16th wasn’t the actual premiere but a sneak peek that aired at 11pm on a Monday?
No. Because the “sneak peek” was the whole first episode, last night’s episode was a rerun.
oh, that’s too bad…the sneak peak will mess up their average. oh well. syfy renewed for season 4 anyway..thank goodness. thanks for the reply.
I never understood why did the ”sneak peak” it just wasn’t promoted well. Well, I guess it couldn’t harm them at least for the next season because we already got a season 4.
The sneak peek was intended to capture new viewers who had been watching the Harry Potter marathon that aired right before the sneak.
But also, everywhere it was announced that the official air date would be 20 July. So why wouldn’t those numbers be listed?
It actually wasn’t the whole first episode though, it had a scene missing… the full premiere, with the missing scene, aired July 20th. SYFY reps have confirmed that the official premiere was July 20th on Twitter.
So, the July 20th airing was 95% footage that had already aired? Regardless of what Syfy calls it, the July 20th airing was a rerun (or mostly a rerun) of what they ran on the preceding Monday night. If the Friday airing had done terribly in the ratings, would you still want us to use Friday’s numbers? Our standard is to use an episode’s ratings from the first time it aired rather than pick and choose which numbers look better. It’s the best way to do an apples-to-apples comparison with other series. I hope that helps.
Nope. Got through about 15 min of the season opener. It has always been borderline but now it’s too gross and vulgar for me. We are done with it.
