The X-Files has been a topic of conversation this week with the release of season 10 on DVD. Both Chris Carter and David Duchovny have spoken out about a possible eleventh season of the series. Both have said that there are plans in the works, but Gillian Anderson offered very different comments when she spoke with Deadline.
Is season 11 in the planning stages? Not yet, according to the actress, who has played Dana Scully since the start of the series.
She said the following:
“For me, it was important that I thought of this season as being just these six shows when we were doing it. The long insanity of the schedule [demanded it]. I’m open to the conversation, though they haven’t come to us yet. I have no clue when they’re going to. I’m getting on with the rest of my life and I’m booking other jobs, so if it is indeed something that they would like to continue, then that conversation will need to be had. And I have no idea when that will be able to take place at this juncture.”
These comments differ greatly from David Duchovny’s comments from earlier this week. Will season 11 of The X-Files happen? Do you want more? Tell us what you think.
**Gillian (I apologize for typo)
I truly hope the producers and the cast, most notably David Duchovny and Jillian Anderson, can come together at least one more season in order to tie up the loose ends left after the season 10 finale. I personally have been a fan since the beginning of the series and was absolutely thrilled when I heard about the mini series. I’m sure many others felt this 6 part mini series would usher in future seasons.
