After an unsuccessful run on Monday and Wednesday nights, NBC pulled Chase from the primetime schedule in January. It was the latest bit of bad news for fans of the show. After giving the series a full season order for 22 installments in October, NBC cut the series back to 18 episodes in December. By the time it was pulled, only 13 episodes had aired and they averaged a very poor 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 5.26 million viewers.
Though the peacock network has not officially cancelled Chase, it’s impossible to imagine that they’d renew it for a second season with such poor ratings. Still, there is some good news on the horizon.
NBC has decided to burn off the remaining five installments on Saturday nights at 8pm, beginning April 23rd. Here’s the network description for episodes 14 and 15:
“FATHER FIGURE” — A ROGUE COP PREYS ON VULNERABLE VICTIMS AND ATTEMPTS TO OUTWIT THE U.S. MARSHALS –ERIC MABIUS (“UGLY BETTY”) GUEST STARS–A corrupt police officer, Justin Tate (guest star Eric Mabius), preys on single mothers in an attempt to get close to their young daughters. The U.S. Marshals work to stay two steps ahead of Tate, even casting U.S. Marshal Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as a ploy to lure him in. The case brings up raw emotions for Daisy (Rose Rollins) while Luke (Jesse Metcalfe) is involved in an internal investigation that could potentially indict Jimmy (Cole Hauser) and Marco (Amaury Nolasco).
“SEVEN YEARS” — THE U.S. MARSHALS TRAIL A PRISON ESCAPEE SEEKING REVENGE– The U.S. Marshals hunt for prison escapee David Bottner (guest star Jason Butler Harner) who launches his own desperate search for evidence of his innocence. He leads Annie (Kelli Giddish) and Jimmy (Cole Hauser) through the horrific events that sealed his seven-year jail sentence, resulting in a twisted outcome. Reeling from a previous emotional case, Daisy (Rose Rollins) unearths a hidden vice, which lands her in some trouble she might not be able to recover from. Also starring: Jesse Metcalfe (Luke Watson) and Amaury Nolasco (Marco Martinez)
Though NBC hasn’t released a schedule that far in advance, it looks like the finale will air on May 21st. NBC will hold their upfront meeting for advertisers on May 16th and announce their upcoming schedule. We’ll know for sure that Chase has been cancelled before or by that date.
What do you think? Are you glad to see Chase is returning, even for just a handful of episodes? Why do you think the show didn’t catch on?

Chase quickly skyrocketed to my favorite show– over Psych, which had held the title for years. I’m very, very happy that they’re airing these, and I hope that, somehow, it will end up successful in the last five episodes? Oh gosh, I hope.
I adore this show, as does my husband! Why can’t ya’ll leave programming alone, NBC?
Every time a really good show comes on ya’ll cancel it so fast–I say we boycott NBC for awhile–only thing that get’s their attention.
I love this show and can’t wait to watch. I hope they decide to bring it back but is sounds like a lot of the actors have already abanded ship already. I hate to see when some of the best shows get cancelled.
Another great show goes off the air…that’s too bad!
I will definitely watch the remaining shows.
I still maintain that 1.) NBC did a lousy job of marketing this show; 2.) NBC did a horrible job of scheduling the show (which didn’t help during multi-episode arcs); and 3.) Hispanic groups were NOT happy with the storylines cutting into drug cartel/border wars territory. Literally. I think Bruckheimer has a HIT with this show. And I’m surprised it has not been moved to USA Networks (part of the NBC Universal family–hint, hint!).
I have now officially decided to stop liking shows. As soon as I do they get cancelled. Does no one like intelligent TV anymore? Do we just want stupidity & fluff that we don’t have to think to watch? Sad.
I just phoned my sister to let her know that the final five of Chase will be broadcast starting in late April. We are both huge fans and believe Annie carries the show. She is a star. No question about it. Love it. Love it.
I’m glad the last 5 shows will be aired and am sorry to see Chase gone. I can’t understand why the ratings are so bad unless it’s because people are just too stupid to think and NBC are playing into their stupidity.
The show was a good concept and would have worked but the female lead just let the show down. If you kill her off and bring in a better character the show might get better.
Old story good actress wrong role.
I’m excited that NBC has planned to air the remaining episodes. I will definitely be watching. I hope that NBC will change their minds and decide to pick up Chase for a second season. I really wish there was a better way to count ratings. Most people watch shows on their DVR and sadly that does not count towards ratings.
Why is it that entertaining shows that require a functioning brain are so quickly cancelled ? Stupid, childish, degrading, and cheap to make reality shows fare much better. I wish that NBC would leave a few quality shows for us to watch. I will be watching the last episodes of ‘Chase”, no matter what night it is on !!!!
Haven’t seen it but hope the cast can find work.
Yes, I will tune in. I haven’t missed an episode yet!!! I like it!!
Actually, i gave up of getting in love with tv shows after AMC cancelled Rubicon to dump Walking-only6crapepisodes-Dead. Rubicon was one of the best tv shows since the premiere of 24′.
Another Bruckheimer production with unfair results. Forgotten was amazing, cancelled. Dark Blue superb, cancelled. Chase a really cool stuff, cancelled. NBC is learning with AMC how to kill the good and brain stuff and keep the easy and numb stuff. Hard to understand.
