What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Good Doctor stars Freddie Highmore, Antonia Thomas, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chuku Modu, Beau Garrett, Hill Harper, Tamlyn Tomita, and Richard Schiff. The medical drama comes from from House creator David Shore and Lost vet Daniel Dae Kim and is based on a South Korean series of the same name.
The Good Doctor centers on Dr. Shaun Murphy (Highmore), a new surgical resident with autism and savant syndrome. His incredible memory and keen ability to perceive spatial relations inform Shaun’s gifted comprehension of his patients. Meanwhile, his autism can hinder his ability to communicate with others. With only the help of his advocate, Dr. Aaron Glassman (Schiff), Shaun must challenge the skepticism and prejudices of the hospital’s board and medical staff, in order to do his job and save lives.

Telly’s Take
Will The Good Doctor be cancelled or renewed for season two on ABC? It premiered with very healthy ratings, was picked up for a full season, and a thriving drama is just what the doctor ordered for the Alphabet Network. As long as the ratings don’t drop that much, my gut says it will easily score a renewal. For now, I will keep an eye on the Nielsens and will update this page with breaking developments, as well as any change in this show’s prognosis. I love this show every Monday l was waiting for this great show.I work with students who are so related to this main role doctor.I do believe they could be successful in life because they smart and with our support and understanding them they could do a lot.We could educate people thru the show like this to support any person who struggle with social skills.
Just a wonderful series. Freddie Highmore is absolutely brilliant. He deserves an Emmy. Just can’t wait to see another series.

I love this show. It is excellent. I have worked with Autistic children and it’s great to see just how well they perceive the world and how they cope. I think it will give parents of Autistic children hope for what could be possible for their children. Like all people we must not limit how much they can achieve.
I have never liked TV dramas. I have probably seen 10 minutes of ER in my whole life. But I really like the show. It doesn’t feel like it’s over acted to me. I have been enjoying it thoroughly. I hope it’s not canceled.
