What’s This TV Show About?
A CBS detective drama, Magnum PI is an updated reboot of the 1980s Tom Selleck vehicle. The new action-adventure series stars Jay Hernandez, Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, Stephn Hill, Tim Kang, and Amy Hill. It centers on former Navy SEAL Thomas Magnum (Hernandez), who is back from Afghanistan and working as a private investigator. Magnum lives in a guest cottage on the Robin’s Nest estate in Oahu, where he also serves as security consultant. With his team at the ready, a vintage Ferrari at his disposal, and his trademark aviator sunglasses, Magnum is always ready to crack the next case.

Telly’s Take
Will CBS cancel or renew Magnum PI for season two? Considering how many people tuned out after watching the premiere of lead-in Young Sheldon, things didn’t look good, right from the start. The numbers have declined since then but I think CBS really wants to renew Magnum for a second season so they’ll give it every chance they can (including ordering a full first season). The new Magnum is awful. He is too young and too short. The Higgins character is not right either. Take it off please!
Cancel this show. It’s junk, garbage and an utter waste of time. Poor script-writing, lousy acting, over the top action scenes almost as an excuse for heavy handed CGI. The female Higgins rewrite was a mistake but Perdita Weeks is taking the lemons she was handed and is making lemonade. She’s very good actor and should be in a better show than this.
Yes, PLEASE renew the new MAGNUM.
The show is great. Not convinced they gave it the best time-slot, on a Monday night.

WTF, I tune in reigiously to the only TV shows I warch and I come accross this clonied crap! Wheres Hawaii 5 0 and blue bloods? Get this garbage outta my face.
Renew! Yes, it not the same as the old. That’s what makes it great! It gives us the feeling when people watch it in the 80s.
People that “hate” the show really seem to be fear of something changing or new in the shows they watched then and now (see Star Trek discovery)
One thing 2018 magnum does is shows younger audience that.. hey there was a magnum P.I. before this, let’s check it out. Now you gained fans for the original and the new
I love the new Magnum PI. I hope it stays. I have enjoyed every episode. I also love the cast,they work well together.
I wasn’t sure I would like the reboot. But it has turned out to be a good show. I think it deserves another season.

I was a big fan of the original and never missed an episode! I think this remake is better than the original!! Of course I’m not a racist.
Deserves to be cancelled, all copies placed into a sealed Kukui Nut chest & dumped in the Molokai Channel…… I am surprised Peter Dinklage is not the new MAgnum, indeed a vertically challenged Magnum, heck he is just 2″ less than LatinoMagunuJr.
What are you smoking James? Jay Hernandez is 5’8″…Peter Dinkage is like 3’8″. The show sucks, but who gives a rats ass if Magnum is 5’8″ or 6’5″ – only 18% of the population is even over 6′.
