What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Paramount+ subscription service, the SEAL Team TV show stars David Boreanaz, Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, and Toni Trucks. The military action-adventure series centers on an exclusive Navy SEAL unit as they train for, plan, and risk their very lives to carry out perilous missions for the sake and honor of their country. Fierce and focused Jason Hayes (Boreanaz) leads the Tier One team. Despite the hardship it causes them and their families, this SEAL team is ready, willing, and able to embark upon secret missions at the drop of a hat. Team members include Jason’s trusted confidant, Ray Perry (Brown Jr.); loyal yet self-destructive Sonny Quinn (Buckley); and young Clay Spenser (Thieriot), a multilingual and second-generation SEAL. No-nonsense DEVGRU Intelligence Officer Lisa Davis (Trucks) is assigned primarily to Bravo Team.
Season Five Ratings
On CBS during the 2021-22 season, the first four episodes of the fifth season of SEAL Team averaged a 0.39 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.47 million viewers. Compared to season four, that’s down by 19% in the demo and down by 12% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
On CBS during the 2023-24 season, the remaining episodes of the fifth season of SEAL Team averaged a 0.14 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.55 million viewers. Compared to season four, (which aired back in 2020 and 2021), that’s down by 72% in the demo and down by 60% in viewership in the live+same day ratings (including DVR playback through 3:00 AM).
While these numbers don’t include further delayed or streaming viewing, they are a very good indicator of how a show is performing, especially when compared to others on the same channel. Find out how SEAL Team stacks up against other CBS TV shows.

Telly’s Take
SEAL Team drew low ratings in its fourth and final season on CBS and my understanding is that it was set to be cancelled. Instead, the execs renewed SEAL Team as an exclusive on Paramount+. It performed well enough on the streamer to be renewed for two more years. Season seven is the end. I don’t expect CBS to keep airing the series but, you never know. Just watched episode 12 season five….excellent & moving. I would hope that another season is in the works. Maybe enough folks watched episode 12 to raise the ratings. They were so bad at the end of Oct. on CBS.
I like the show but the language is uncalled for, i’m done with it
This type of show would not be realistic without the language. War, albeit a cold one, is not sanitized.
I’ve been waiting to hear when Seal Team will return since December. I also check CBS returns and cancels so I won’t miss anything but CBS has just ignored me and left me hanging. I loved that show and have asked to be informed about the return date to no avail. Can you help me? Most of my tv viewing is CBS. My knowledge about other other networks is very limited.
The show is now exclusive to the Paramount+ streaming service. CBS aired the first four episodes of the fifth season but that’s it.
