What’s This TV Show About?
A Netflix sci-fi mystery, Travelers stars Eric McCormack, MacKenzie Porter, Nesta Cooper, Jared Abrahamson, Reilly Dolman, Patrick Gilmore, J. Alex Brinson, Leah Cairns, and Jennifer Spence. The drama unfolds in a post-apocalyptic future, in which special operatives known as “travelers” go back in time to save humanity from destruction. Unlike much time-travel fiction, there is no time machine involved. Instead, a traveler transfers his or her consciousness into the body of “target” just prior to that person’s death, then uses the person’s identity as a cover, while carrying out secret missions.
As of February 1, 2019, Travelers has been cancelled, so there won’t be a fourth season. Could it return someday? Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Unless they decide to publicize viewership, it is difficult to predict whether Netflix will cancel or renew Travelers for season four. Flying blind, I think it will be renewed. Although the series started out as a co-production between Canada’s Showcase and Netflix, as of season three, it is solely a Netflix TV series. I would have expected them to announce this season as the third and final season if they were ready to end it. Travelers was such an excellent series with great plot and character development. I don’t understand why it was cancelled. There is not a lot of intelligent and thoughtful programming on TV.
it had a great ending, unlike many series, but I would like to see more as both the wife and myself liked the show
I nearly had forgotten about this series after watching the first 2 seasons until my nephew asked me if I ever saw it. Then it all came back to me. I just didn’t have Netflix for a while anyway. I re-watched all of season 2 so I can refresh myself with where I left off. Now that I have finished watching season 3, I am both in awe of how good the season ended and in shock that there is yet to be an announcement for a 4th season. PLEASE come back! I love this show!!
This is a good show.
Travelers is such a well written, intelligent show with excellent performers. Just found this Netflix series by accident. Somehow I had not heard any advertisements for it. Just finished season 2, looking forward to season 3 and am so enjoying each episode. How disappointing that no 4th season is planned.
It is shame this show is cancelled
Recently upgraded to a 4k TV and started watching it again from the start. Would have liked to see the future at some point where you see who the real travellers looked like before the consciousness went into the host body. But guess the season 3 finale pretty much wrapped up that story line.

I pretty much knew it was over watching how they wrote Season 3. Most of the characters got killed off and they over wrote plot twists on existing characters instead of coming up with something new. (i.e. the “past” the wrote Marcy, why couldn’t they just leave it at her being mentally impaired?) Netflix I believe is overextended with production and isn’t really making much money. Dang it! Have been enjoying this show. So much potential – could go on and on! Wouldn’t think it was expensive to make so it’s a shame it has been cancelled. Hope they rethink that decision. Great cast!
Just finished watching 3 seasons in 3 days. So disappointed to see the 2/01/19 posting that there will not be a 4th. Sad in my personal omega.
My husband and I have really enjoyed all three seasons of Travelers and we’re extremely disappointed that it has not been renewed for at least two more seasons. The story line is super interesting and the actors are fantastic! Please, please, please renew! This is an excellent show!
I feel this show is very revitting. One of the best on Netflex. I hope it is reviewed for season 4. Excellent scripts and acting. Keep it going.
Please do a season 4 or even 5. This is 1 show my husband and I love. I talked to a few friends and was surprised to discover that they loved it too. We all cried at the end of season 3. David was the anchor of the show and his relationship with Marcy was amazing. I liked the development of all the characters, and the plot was interesting for a time travel show. We would like to see more travelers
I am very disappointed! How can they do this to us! The least they could do was allow them to wrap it up much like NBC did with “Timeless”. This was a story with a plot and you get hooked and you continue to watch to find out what happens next. Very disappointed!
I love this show. I am disappointed that Netflix canceled it. I hope they will change their minds and bring it back.
We loved travelers. Hopefully some network will be smart enough to pickup this amazing show. With so many followers how in the world did this happen? I mean really.
