Paramount Network (formerly Spike TV) hasn’t had the smoothest start. It ultimately cancelled the Heathers TV series adaptation prior to airing, because of the school violence storyline. Fans ignored the second season of Nobodies when it moved over, so it went back to TV Land. Now, in addition to American Woman, they’ve introduced the Yellowstone TV show? Can this modern-day western lasso enough viewers for the re-branded cable network to make its mark on the Nielsen ratings? Will Yellowstone be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. Status update below.
A Paramount Network family drama, from creators John Linson and Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone stars Kevin Costner, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Gil Birmingham, Kelsey Asbille, Dave Annable, Brecken Merrill, Ian Bohen, Jefferson White Danny Huston, Josh Lucas, Gretchen Mol, Jill Hennessey, Patrick St. Esprit, Heather Hemmons, Denim Richards, and Michael Nouri. The story centers on the Duttons, a family of powerful and prosperous cattle ranchers. It chronicles their shifting alliances, as well as their old grudges, and even unsolved murders.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you like the Yellowstone TV series? Should Paramount Network cancel or renew this TV show for season two?
7/24/18 update: Yellowstone has been renewed for a second season by Paramount Network. Details here.
Best show to come out in a long time.
Great show should be renewed.
People need to stop over reacting. It is a mature show. Means nudity and swearing. Killing etc.
Outstanding story line, competent cast and acting and as far as language, it has ratings warning and probably isn’t suitable for under 18 nor for that matter would they be interested in this adult western. It is awesome.
Sick of female nudity that has nothing to do with storyline but does nothing but downgrade women. Takes any credibility away from storyline…Costner can do better than this. Can’t watch with my kids, won’t watch at all!!
Horrible. Not one likable character among them. Suffered thru the 1st episode and couldn’t care less about any of them or their causes. And where was beautiful Yellowstone Park? Dear Hollyweird writers – make the lead character likable – it’s really that simple….
The show is on at 10pm, young children should be in bed. It also gives a warning. I didn’t expect it to be this violent, but it is a very good show and we will continue to watch it. I do not see the reason for the nasty b…(I mean) witch sister. I will be upset if we invest our time and then it is cancelled and we are left hanging. Since people comment about the language and violence, who otherwise might like the show, maybe they should look at lightening up on that a bit so as not to… Read more »
I was looking forward to this series since I’m a big Kevin Kostner fan. After I started watching the 1st episode, with my 8 year old granddaughter with me, the language got so foul for her, I had to watch something else. Then the next time I was watching, I couldn’t take so much foul language, I’ve decided to skip watching completely.
We were looking forward to this new series, but quickly changed our minds. It fits the definition of VILE – foul, nasty, unpleasant, bad, disagreeable, horrid, horrible, dreadful, abominable, atrocious, offensive, obnoxious, odious, unsavory, repulsive, disgusting, distasteful, loathsome, hateful, nauseating, sickening; disgraceful, appalling, shocking, sorry, shabby, shameful, dishonorable, execrable, heinous, abhorrent, deplorable, monstrous, wicked, evil, iniquitous, nefarious, depraved, debased; contemptible, despicable, reprehensible; informalgross, godawful, lowdown, lousy; archaicscurvy
morally bad; wicked
In summary – DISAPPOINTED!!
Not watching it!!
The actors are doing their jobs well, I just don’t like the storyline.
I really enjoyed it. More than I thought I would. If you like a modern western or a fan of longmere worth watching.
Not even close to class of Longmire! To bad Costner lost his dignity!
Loved the show and looking forward to next episode. Kevin Costner as usual is great.
Hope it is on a long time.
Beautiful scenery is the only thing good about this show. Unbelievable that a prime time tv show would have this filthy language and nudity. The slippery slope of tv ratings has crashed. Hope it is cancelled soon. Also didn’t help that Costner decided to join the liberal political bandwagon on the liberal View. Certainly changed my opinion of Costner, but didn’t effect my review of a bad show.
I thought I was great, if people don’t want their kids watching it then don’t let them , it’s not meant to be kids entertainment, adults need an outlet too, not PC programming
Language is atrocious! Don’t need the nudity, sex scenes! So disappointed.
I waited 2 weeks to watch Yellowstone and after 10 minutes I labeled it as trash. I could not believe that Kevin Costner (a great actor) would be involved in such filth.
This started as a good show, but quickly turned filthy..people need not let their children watch this,it is soft core porn.
