For the first time, CBS held off launching a new season of MacGyver until mid-season. Is that a bad sign for the show’s future or, is it a lock to return for the 2020-21 season? Will MacGyver be cancelled or renewed for season five? Stay tuned. *Status update below.
An action-adventure series, MacGyver stars Lucas Till, Tristin Mays, Justin Hires, Meredith Eaton, Levy Tran, and Henry Ian Cusick. A reimagining of the 1985 TV series, this show centers on Angus “Mac” MacGyver (Till), a 20-something adventurer. Mac creates a secret organization within the US government. There, he uses his vast scientific knowledge and an extraordinary talent for unconventional problem-solving to save lives.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

For comparisons: Season three of MacGyver on CBS averaged a 0.70 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.11 million viewers.

I love MacGyver and Company but do miss George
Eads and the fatherly protection that he brought to the group.
I’m still not understanding why the network has held
the show until mid season and I am definitely not
happy about Magnum PI not being on any more !!!
I do want the show to be renewed and will be very
disappointed if it’s cancelled.
I still watch Scorpion when it’s on because it was such
a great show and I was so disappointed when it was
cancelled !!!!

Things are starting off strong and despite being midseason, ratings so far look good enough for a season 5 but let’s not jinx ourselves!
I love Mac and company. My grandson and I make time to watch it together.
I greatly miss Jack but the show is still awesome! I really love this reboot and want it to go for years to come. Will definitely be following this season and really hope it’s renewed <3

I believe the actor for Mcgyver is too young for the part. He appears to be a college student and also appears he has no military history. He just seems not to be the type for the show.

They fired him. Show is not the same, is it?

Weak. Repeated old worn formula. Puzzle, fight, solve, new character a nothing. Won’t be following this season. Heck Young Sheldon is better, that’s writing.

Heck, not the same without Thornton (the agency head for the first 12 episodes). I don’t know why Sandrine Holt left the show, but that was the first slip in a steady erosion of the watchability of the show. No knock intended on Meredith Eaton (I loved her work on Boston Legal), but I find the Matty character both uninteresting and unconvincing.
Please renewed another season love this classic show need more of it so good enjoy watch it.
