It looks like the Project Blue Book TV series is going MIA. Deadline reports that the scripted TV show has been cancelled after two seasons.
Airing on the History cable channel, the Project Blue Book TV series stars Aidan Gillen, Michael Malarkey, Neal McDonough, Michael Harney, Laura Mennell, and Ksenia Solo. The show is inspired by the personal experiences of Dr. J. Allen Hynek (Gillen), a brilliant college professor. He was recruited by the U.S. Air Force to spearhead the Project Blue Book clandestine operation. He’s partnered with Air Force Captain Michael Quinn (Michael Malarkey). In season two, they quest for the truth and delve deeper into themes of global conspiracy, look at how UFOs have impacted the evolution of the nation’s military practices and technology and lean into the nostalgia of the 1950s.
The second season of Project Blue Book averaged a 0.21 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 1.30 million viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 32% in the demo and down by 22% in viewership. The final episode aired on March 24th.
History’s Knightfall has also been cancelled after two seasons so this leaves Vikings as the channel’s only remaining scripted series. That show is currently in its sixth and final season with the final 10 episodes still waiting to be scheduled.

Damned shame there won’t be a follow on season. It was one of the best series.
I too am sorry that it is not getting a season three. Here is “history” and is dramatized for viewers entertainment, excellent actors, special effects and period setting…excellent they just could not get their viewership up, such a shame.
That’s awful!!! We really enjoyed the show! My 19 yr old granddaughter loved it too! Really hope another channel picks it up. A channel that really cares about history!!
The show was very well written and produced, with a great cast. The last season was really hitting it’s stride in strong fashion. To pull the plug at this point is incomprehensible to me.
I and a great many friends are shocked and bitterly disappointed over this grievous decision.
I’m so disappointed to hear there’s not going to be a season 3 of Project Blue Book. I really enjoyed this series. I can only hope that they’ll reconsider their decision.
Aw, that’s a damned shame, I would have loved a S3. I really enjoyed this show! Maybe a streaming service will pick it up……please!!! This was great entertainment. Damn, now we won’t know what happened to Captain Quinn!
I absolutely loved this show!!! I am truly disappointed to hear it has been cancelled! Is there any way they may reconsider? If not, I seriously hope someone else can pick it up. This series will sorely be missed.
This is really bad. There are very little good shows on the Cable networks these days. Project Blue book was a great example of creativity. Being a UFO tracker for years, I was very familiar with Dr. Hynek’s work as I grew up and Dr Werhner von Braun as well, von Braun was not the jerk that the History Channel made him out to be.. Some of the plots were a reach, but were entertaining. Hopefully, the History Channel will reconsider after Covid-19 matter is over. Guess Disney wasn’t making enough money off the Millennials! AND what about the “OTHER” Demographics?! Only the one counts?! Well if my opinion or viewing habits don’t suit you or matter, then I guess you don’t want my money either. I won’t be renewing our Disney+ OTT service after the Free Trial. “Say GuBye Pluto!!” Maybe it’ll find its way to another network that will give it some love?!
I forgot they were owned by the Mouse House, probably don’t want to spend anymore money on ANYTHING since they dumped all their employees because of the Covid-19.
