CBS has cancelled its Scorpion TV show after four seasons. The season, which began with a musical episode, weill be this series’ swan song.
A CBS action drama, Scorpion stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kay Thomas, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Robert Patrick, Riley B. Smith, Andy Buckley, Jamie McShane, Joshua Leonard, Dan Dratch, and Scott Porter. Inspired by a real-life computer expert, the series centers on Walter O’Brien (Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. Team Scorpion is the country’s last line of defense against lurking high-tech threats.
Scorpion: A Look at the Ratings
The fourth season of Scorpion is averaging a 0.81 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.26 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by about 32% and down by 27%, respectively. By both measures, Scorpion is consistently among the lowest rated scripted CBS TV shows.
All told, today CBS cancelled two TV shows: Superior Donuts and Scorpion. The network also renewed five series: Criminal Minds (season 14); Man With a Plan (season three); Life in Pieces (season four); Instinct (season two); and Big Brother: Celebrity Edition (season two).
UPDATE: CBS has cancelled Kevin Can Wait and has renewed Elementary for season seven.
Deadline has confirmed the Scorpion cancellation.

They needed to wrap up the story lines. They had so many things keeping viewers interested. It is terrible that the network did not care enough for the viewers to give us a decent ending!
The show cannot end the way it did. That’s so unfair. This is one of my favourite shows. Why not make a short season to end it off like they did for Chuck
I just started watching last season. Was just getting into caring about the characters and bang the network takes it away. They leave garbage on television like Big Brother and other just plain garbage shows but take away things that are thought provoking and entertaining without being full of filth.

I love this show. It was entertaining, family oriented, and smart. So sorry they have to cancel these types of shows which are good and keep on the junk stuff like the Big Bang Theory and Housewives along with Bachelor. Stupid shows.
I love this show, scorpion. It just shows how to deal with people with superior intellect. Some of the other shows are just not worth watching. Can’t believe this was cancelled. All of my family enjoyed it and looked forward to how they would solve the problem. What is wrong with the networks when they cancel shows that are good and come up with these new non-sense crap..
Scorpion and Designated Survivor were two shows I always watch. I record the series so that I do not miss a show. The major networks are slowly losing me as a viewer as they have fewer and fewer well written and acted shows. Each time a show like Scorpion and Designated Survivor is cancelled, I spend more time watching PBS or one of the movie channels. It seems to me that national channels such as ABC, CBS, and NBC are becoming more “reality show” and silly comedy stations.
I fully agree with you. All the real good shows are disappearing and replace with silly shows. I wish the networks would wake up!

So far, many of the shows that I thought were worth watching have been cancelled: Scorpion, Designated Survivor and Last Man Standing. Thankfully, Fox will be bringing back Last Man Standing. Maybe they should look into the other two!!
I agree!!! CBS is too quick to cancel good shows, maybe changing the time or day would have helped grab more viewers!

I’m still heart sick the show is over, ESPECIALLY HOW it ended! Networks, if you’re unsure about canceling a show, let them film two finale episodes. It would have been SO easy to end the show on a high, rather than a never to end clifff hanger that broke the team up! Yup, I’m NOT BUYING this season on digital…too bad for the network!
It needs to have a finale to wrap it all up if no one else picks it up.
