CBS has cancelled its Scorpion TV show after four seasons. The season, which began with a musical episode, weill be this series’ swan song.
A CBS action drama, Scorpion stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kay Thomas, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Robert Patrick, Riley B. Smith, Andy Buckley, Jamie McShane, Joshua Leonard, Dan Dratch, and Scott Porter. Inspired by a real-life computer expert, the series centers on Walter O’Brien (Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. Team Scorpion is the country’s last line of defense against lurking high-tech threats.
Scorpion: A Look at the Ratings
The fourth season of Scorpion is averaging a 0.81 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.26 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by about 32% and down by 27%, respectively. By both measures, Scorpion is consistently among the lowest rated scripted CBS TV shows.
All told, today CBS cancelled two TV shows: Superior Donuts and Scorpion. The network also renewed five series: Criminal Minds (season 14); Man With a Plan (season three); Life in Pieces (season four); Instinct (season two); and Big Brother: Celebrity Edition (season two).
UPDATE: CBS has cancelled Kevin Can Wait and has renewed Elementary for season seven.
Deadline has confirmed the Scorpion cancellation.
What do you think? Did you think CBS would cancel or renew Scorpion for season five? Now that it’s over, did it end at the right time, or should the network have given it another season to wrap up? Sound off, in the comments.
NOOOO this was one of our favorites!!!!! You lost us to Netflix / Amazon. Your choice of shows now are worthless.
One of my favorite shows and one I make sure not to miss every week. At least 3 shows I used to watch on CBS I lost interest in this past year due to getting past their primes, but this one still had so much promise and opportunity for new material. Guess Thursday night will be the only night I watch CBS now.
And this is what happens when you end a show on a cliff hanger . You risk the show ending without any resolutions to the story lines involving all of your characters. I would have thought the writers and the producers cared about there fans more than this. It doesn’t even make sense to buy all of the seasons or watch the reruns knowing how the story ends.
I’m so disappointed in ABC. I have watched shows on there channel for most of my life. With them canceling so many shows that I have watch from the very beginning. So with them canceling Scorpions I will no longer watch shows on there channel. I have lots of friends that feel the same way. I hope that there ratings go down on lots of here shows. There channel is going to be boycott by many.
CBC not ABC
CBS, not CBC.
Wait, there’s more.

All of you can sign up and get all your friends and all your families to sign up, as well. You won’t believe how many of them have signed up.
They should’ve not cancelled it. It was a great show. They left way too many things wide open. Happy and Toby’s baby, Walter and Paige’s relationship, sly and flo’s Potential relationship. And Cabes. Was it written for the team to separate knowing a possible cancellation looming over them? But what’s done is done. They did away with a great show, maybe like last man standing another network will pick them up.
I am disappointed that Scorpion is canceled but can’t say I’m surprised. They truly got away from what the show was really about. It seemed that the last season was more of a comedy routine than the show it started out to be. I do agree, however that they needed one more season to finalize things. Too many things left hanging.
Agreed
My opinion?? Scorpio should not be canceled. We had to get one more season, where we could get a recommendation. I mean, Walter will be with Paige and Ralph, Toby and Happy with a baby, Florence will fall in love with Sylvestre, and Cabe will stay with Alle. Marc Collins’s run-in and stinging rises. Why would Walter call Paige at the end of Season 4? Please wait for season 5, try the time of the other time transmitter and see how many fans you will get.
I can not believe CBS ended the show on such a bad ending. There is no closure for fans. Hated the ending. Bring the show back for another year.
I really enjoyed watching Scorpion and I’m very disappointed that it is not being renewed.
Hey, guys! Look what I’ve just found.

Season 4 didn’t end with a happy ending. Paige won’t talk to Walter. CBS calls this a happy ending? It ended at the wrong time! They need to change their minds and renew Scorpion for a fifth and final season and make sure it ends with a happy ending, OK?
newsflash Dave we can all get a happy ending trust me I know TV disappoint me many times
I’m thirteen and I like this series a lot. Everywhere there are the stupid films that make no sense or do strange remarks, that sometimes makes you wonder why you are watching it. I feel like scorpion wasn’t like that, it made sense and i liked it because it’s different from the basic series. I know things have to end but don’t cancel a series on a cliffhanger, at least let the series to have a proper ending!!
CBS constantly did this show a disservice. The writers did the same with the last episode. Now Scorpion’s loyal viewers get left with a bitter aftertaste in their mouths, because why? Show runners knew the ratings were bad and there was a pretty good chance they were getting cancelled and they still chose to have the team break up, along with Walter and Paige, and zero satisfaction on the Quintis kid front? Way to mistreat the fans.
I’m sorry, I really wanted this show to continue on and get better but I really haven’t enjoyed it after season one. Still, I’m glad it ran for as long as it did, many shows don’t get passed a second season these days.
