When Hallmark viewers tune in to the Home & Family TV show tomorrow morning, it’s a safe bet that they won’t see Mark Steines as co-host. The cable channel has released a statement that they have parted ways with Steines. His bio has already been removed from the Home & Family portion of Hallmark’s website. Read an update here.

Statement by Hallmark Channel
Issued on May 31, 2018Today Hallmark Channel has parted ways with Mark Steines as the co-host of the network’s lifestyle series “Home &Family.” We are extremely grateful to Mark for his incredible work and wish him all the best success in his future endeavors.
A former correspondent and substitute anchor on Entertainment Tonight, Steines helped launch the current incarnation of Home & Family in October 2012. Paige Davis was his first on-screen partner. She was replaced by Christina Ferrare a month later. Debbie Matenopoulos replaced Ferrare in 2016 and now, it appears Matenopoulos is the show’s sole host for the time being.
It’s unclear what caused Steines to leave the program so abruptly but, with the current climate in the industry, one can guess that we haven’t heard the end of this story. It may be something as simple as May 2018 was the end of his contract. When Ferrare was replaced, there was little acknowledgment.
Steines hasn’t made any updates to his social media accounts or website. His Instagram post on Memorial Day indicates that all was well on the Home & Family set.

Of course we will miss Mark Steines. Bring him back, it’s not Home and Family if Mark and Debbie are not together! Along with the other family members! Also we miss Kim D. We LOVE them dearly!

I’m so sorry to hear Mark left Home & Family. I watch the show every day to put a smile on my face to get my day started.
I’m so sad I hope to see him again as a guest or on his own show.

Kept watching, reluctantly, after they let Christine go because I enjoy watching Mark and always get the feeling he’s genuine and caring. Guess that’s a bad thing on H&F. So this is the end of watching the show for me – sad, because parts of the show are enjoyable. The constant reminder that someone who’s power on the show has chosen Debbie over everyone else and has a real bias against anyone over 40.
Got it wrong again, Debbie should be gone! she is sooo fake, she tells everyone she loves them, she doesnt even know them. She has to take over every segment, and talks over everyone and acts like she knows more than the guest, you ask to speak on the show! Hopefully Mark has not done anything inapproiate to anyone on the show!
It is not a surprise because Debbie has been trying to upstage Mark for quite a while. I probably will not watch the show now
It’s painfully obvious Debbie has been doing everything she can to take over that show, never really cared for Mark and his antics but he was more tolerable than Takeover-Debbie, the show sucks since Christine was booted, we DVR it and fast forward through 90% of the show anymore. Crafts are pedestrian and childish “and then” or copied straight off Pinterest, it’s 2 hours of cooking and chit chat, boring, nothing like it used to be!
I agree with you 100%, I didn’t watch for awhile after Christine was replaced by Debbie. I will DVR and only watch when a guest is on that I am interested in. I hate when Debbie talks over the guest
I stopped watching the show for a year after Cristina was fired. If I worked on the show I’d be extremely worried about my job b/c so many of the “family” has been let go over the years. Maybe a name change is in order, like, “Split Home and Dysfunctional Family.” Sad.
I feel Hallmark has made a BIG MISTAKE. The team seems to go together. I am so sick of you people think that it is alright to just let people go. YOU ARE MAKING A BIG MISTAKE. I MIGHT NOT WATCH ANYMORE !!!!!!!! He seems to fit just right. I feel you should think about your decision.
Mark will be dearly missed. I truly enjoyed the original program with Mark co-hosting with Christina. They were perfect hosts for the program. Debbie is nice but comes somewhat cool and detached in comparison.
Mark had seemed not as comfortable since. Like a part of him was missing since Christina was replaced. I don’t watch the program as often any longer.
Life is about constant changes but different is not necessarily better.
He will be missed much like Christina.
It is sad to hear Mark is leaving the show. He was extremely good, will certainly be missed, and we wish him well. Debbie is terrific as cohost and the rest of the crew is great, too. My husband and I watch your shows every weekday. It is so good to have such descent and family-oriented people on your show who are always smiling and uplifting. Thank you! I selected my cable provider if they carried Hallmark Channel, for Murder She Wrote at the time. Since then I watch and record both Channels so I don’t miss any shows or series. I think Mark represents a very proud and loving husband and father and believe he was a very value part of the show. F it was his decision to leave, I would accept it, but I don’t think it was a smart move if Hallmark let him go.
I haven’t really been impressed with the show since they replaced Christina with Debbie. She is someone who has always been full of herself and a scene stealer. This has been evident in her problems with other gigs on The View and Entertainment Tonight. Have no doubt she had a lot to do with this and probably do to her “couch” work behind the scenes with management. Yes I will miss Mark Steines. I sure would like to know the truth as to why he left us & the show. I also think he should of told us . We devoted our mornings to H&F . So now what. We LOVE YOU MARK & WILL MISS YOU .
No I don’t think I will watch the show that often i copied a lot of your good crafts and recipes but now I don’t know.So many people have come and gone and unfortunately the best have left and the bad have stayed.Debbie to me is rude she talks over people and to much of a drama person not good.I will miss Mark a lot he was the reason I watched the show at 7am now no reason to turn on the tv at that time.Good luck Mark
I wish we would know why Mark left. Loved the show, work things out Hallmark. Tell the truth why he left. Unfortunately, with all the problems in TV and Hollywood, we will wonder if the truth doesn’t come out!
