What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, Midnight, Texas stars François Arnaud, Dylan Bruce, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Arielle Kebbel, Jason Lewis, Peter Mensah, Sarah Ramos, and Yul Vázquez. Based on the book series of the same name, from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, the supernatural drama plays out in the remote Texas town of Midnight, where nothing is what it seems. There, only outsiders belong, while normality is just plain weird. It is the best haven for people who need to hide from the world at large. The townies come together to form a sort of chosen family. Together they fend off external pressures from nosy police officers, vicious biker gangs, and their own dark pasts.
Season One Ratings
The first season of Midnight, Texas is averaging a 0.74 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.99 million viewers. Find out how Midnight, Texas stacks up against other NBC TV shows.
On February 14, 2018, Midnight, Texas was renewed for a second season, which debuts October 26, 2018. Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Midnight, Texas was originally supposed to premiere in the mid-season, but in the end, the Peacock network held it for summer. What’s more — they only ordered ten episodes. While none of that adds up to anything definitive, it could indicate that they have less faith in the series. The ratings have not been very good so I suspect that the show will be cancelled. What do you think? Are you glad that Midnight, Texas has been renewed for a second season? How would you have felt if NBC had cancelled this TV series, instead?
Have watched the first 6 episodes and LOVE this show – I was hooked after episode 1!!!
This better be renewed – getting so sick and tired of the good shows being axed while shows that are P.O.S keep being shoved at us!
Barvo!I so agree with you.
I agree 100%. NBC is famous for this!
This show brought non cable TV back to the forthought process’s of viewers everywhere. Do not bail on this great story and show some grit please.
Finally something new to escape into. Admitted initially slow but there was enough to keep me coming back. Grimm and Once Upon a Time just didn’t catch on with me. Would like to see a second season of Midnight, Texas to allow for more character development. Haven’t read the books nor did I watch True Blood, so maybe I have a more optimistic view.
I love the show… PLEASE, PLEASE renew… I love all of the characters too..!!
I’m watching the show but I’m really not very impressed with it but that’s probably because I have read the books. To me it feels like rather than really developing a story line the writers have taken stuff out of all three books and shoved it into one season which for me leaves the characters feeling seriously under developed and rushed. And one of my pet peeves (which will make no difference to someone who hasn’t read the books) is that some of the main characters look absolutely nothing like what they do in the book and they are major… Read more »
What you say may be true not all of us have read these books or have the time to all the one true they’re good we all know that very few programs are anything like the book as I said in a previous comment the show was only into its first season and should be given time to grow after all the original Star Trek only aired for three seasons.. if the show did cram lot into one season it certainly got my attention although I didn’t see it when it was aired on TV I caught it on On… Read more »
Please renew this show.
I love this show. I am addicted.
LOVE this show and hope it won’t be cancelled!! It just needs time!
Love it don’t dare take it off! Give it time to get it’s footing many shows like Supernatural and others have their niche this one will too it’s up to you NBC the proper time slot will be extremely important even still I’ve been watching this show from one season to the next I hope. If nothing else I would definitely watch it on On Demand from start to finish.
I really like this show, sometimes the first season needs time to grow and expand. Give it a chance, give it a second season. I really like the cast. I do believe
they could spruce up the town a little though. Give us some background on the “normal people,” and what they think about their special little town….
I am really enjoying this show, I will be seriously disappointed if its cancelled.
Yes please i agree this show so needs to be renewed
Please keep Midnight Texas on air. I absolutely love the show and have beeb tuned since it air fan in Houston, Tx
Love the show please listen to your UK audience as well as the US. Love the pace it moves at. Season 2 please.
I love this show! I’ll be so disappointed if it’s cancelled! I bought the books after watching the pilot episode. I became interested when I saw that It was going to be based on a Charlaine Harris novel (I loved True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse novels it was based on) I wish they had a better ratings system, I’ve never met anyone with a Neislsons rating box or that’s ever had one, yet it represents every viewer? There has to be a better way! I mean, they really can’t just track viewing through every cable company? Don’t we all… Read more »
I love this show!! please don’t cancel!!
God awful. Like, seriously. I waited three episodes in to comment on Midnight, Texas, because I wanted to give it a fighting chance, BUT, this show is so bad it almost makes me angry. THIS is what they were hoping would assauge the pain of Grimm’s cancelation? Nope. No no nope. I honestly cannot imagine what NBC was thinking with this show; It almost bangs viewers against the head with its banality and cliches, its uninspired visual settings and sets, ultra-dull universe and lurching storylines, lack of creative editing and original score, and, most perhaps most damning, its half-heartedly written… Read more »
I have to agree. I love my fantasy shows and as a book lover tried to be loyal to Ms. Harris because of the Southern Vampire Series. That said, the show is junk. Just junk. I don’t know if it is due to budget constraints but there is not a single character I care about. Sorry but the show is boring as watching paint dry.
I LOVE THE SHOW!!
DO NOT CANCEL IT!
LOVE THE WRITING, ACTING,THE CHARACTERS, THE ATMOSPHERE, THE …EVERYTHING!
NBC….
DON’T F**K IT UP!
I love the show I really hope there’s going to be a second season. I love the cast I think it was done really well and I look forward to it every week please make a second season and the third.
