Rebel is currently airing its season on ABC, but the network has already announced the show’s cancellation. Based on the life of Erin Brockovich, Katey Sagal stars in the drama series as Rebel, a woman who does what it takes to take down the bad guy. The Thursday night series also stars John Corbett, James Lesure, Lex Scott Davis, Tamala Jones, Ariela Barer, Kevin Zegers, Sam Palladio, and Andy Garcia.
Sagal, Brockovich, and others involved with the series spoke out about the drama’s cancellation. Sagal said the following about the ABC series being cancelled.

As for Brockovich, she spoke out to fans and told them to fight for Rebel to be picked up for a second season elsewhere.

And yet the Chris Meloni borefest survives? Good show, good cast, good vibe. I sincerely hope another network picks it up so Rebel’s crusade against greedy evildoers can continue.

We loved Rebel in our household and we are pretty hard to please. The casting was perfect. I would love for it to be picked up by another network or Netflix!
What really gets angry is that ABC keeps Big sky and cancels Rebel. Rebel is so much better. Big sky is nothing but over the top violence. Shame on you. This is but another reason I watch mostly shows on The CW. Much better station. Count me out. Bye bye.
Watched REBEL from its first episode. It’s a show that stands up for all. I would hate that this show be cancelled due to its stand on the rights for all she is fighting for. If this show is ruffling some feathers, then YES it is doing it’s job. Fight the good fight and keep on fighting. Do not cancel this show.

Rebel has a chance to become a cult favorite! Each episode has been more compelling, picking up audience by word of mouth. But it has to have that chance!
I am utterly shocked at the cancellation of Rebel. How these decisions are made after only a few shows are aired is beyond my comprehension. This was a new fresh show which had strong female characters. They need to keep this show going and rerun shows this summer to give those viewers who missed it a chance to watch.
Why in heavens name would you cancel this show ? Every time a good show comes up, you get rid of it and put singing shows or talent shows , not everyone likes that crap ….I don’t get it !!!!!!!!

It irritated me the first few episodes as I found the character Rebel annoying, but either the character mellowed some or I got used to her because now I am enjoying the storyline. I’m not attached to it like some other long running shows so am ok with it being cancelled, as along as the current storyline comes to a conclusion one way or the other. Please ABC execs, revisit your cancellation of Rebel. The show connects with so many of us. The cast is awesome, kinda like a dream team. Give it a chance. Listen to your viewing public. You won’t regret it.
