Looks like ABC has earned Maya DiMeo’s wrath. The network has cancelled the Speechless comedy series, so there won’t be a fourth season of JJ and company.
A family sitcom, Speechless stars Minnie Driver, John Ross Bowie, Mason Cook, Micah Fowler, Kyla Kenedy, and Cedric Yarbrough. Maya DiMeo (Driver) is a no-nonsense mom who will do anything for her family: husband Jimmy (Bowie), brainy Ray (Mason Cook), athletic Dylan (Kyla Kennedy), and teenager JJ (Micah Fowler), who has cerebral palsy. The third season kicked off with the DiMeo family and JJ’s aide, Kenneth (Yarbrough), heading to London to meet up with Maya’s estranged father, Martin (John Cleese), to ask him for some help. This year, Maya also has to come to terms with how fast her kids are growing up.
The third season of Speechless averaged a 0.49 in the 18-49 year old demographic and 2.32 million viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 57% and 46%, respectively.
Out of the 21 scripted ABC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, Speechless is in 21st place in the demo and 21st place in total viewership.

Sad news. This was truly an enjoyable series. I guess any series that touches feelings too deeply is doomed. Hope the cast will find employment soon…they are worthy of another chance.
So many amazing actors and actresses. And I only found this show from browsing through a streaming app. I stumbled upon it and loved it. Male/female lead are equivalent quality of “fresh off the boat!” Leads
We have only just seen seasons 1 to 3 in the UK, and we love it. Gutted it has been cancelled. Hoping for a Brooklyn 99 style revival.

ABC has made a mistake, love this show. Maybe another network will pick it up, hope so!!
One of the best shows. Really showcased real issues with a disabled family member. Most sitcoms are just stupid and bad language. No real comedy anymore. ABC, sad!

so sad it was cancelled Was beautiful, touching and meaningful to so many people. ! ABC made a mistake by doing this. There is so much garbage on TV and this was a special show that touched the hearts of so many in the special needs community!
