Set in a New York legal aid office, In Contempt follows outspoken attorney Gwen Sullivan (Ash) as she deals with complicated cases. She works with quick-witted and egotistical lawyer Charlie Riggs (Christian Keyes) and gets advice from her stern father, Earl Sullivan (Richard Lawson), a former judge. Additional cast members include Daniel Kash, Megan Hutchings, Mouna Traore, Ronnie Rowe Jr., and Tobias Truvillion.
The BET series debuted on April 10, 2018, and ran until June 12, 2018. There are 10 episodes.
BET released the following statement: “At this time, BET Networks will not be moving forward with a second season of In Contempt. We are grateful to the incredible cast and producers. We would especially like to thank and recognize the acclaimed Executive Producers Terri Kopp, who created the series, Lance Samuels and Daniel Iron. We look forward to finding ways to continue in partnership. We are also excited to continue our relationship with the star of In Contempt, Erica Ash as she is set to star along Paula Patton in the film Sacrifice premiering this fall on BET+.”

Big mistake cancelling this show! Was right up there with scandal… Come on BET you had a winner I would have watched 10 more seasons…and no finale really???
InContempt was a great show. So sad it’s not being renewed. Can’t imagine anything bad about the show. Who ever decided not to renew is crazy. The movie Sacrifice was a joke. That money could have been put towards InContempt.
I’ve just finished watching season 1. A great show with many twists amd turns and even some good belly laughs. I really cannot understand why it’s been ended

I don’t think In Contempt should have been cancelled. It was a great show right ’till the end. I think it was getting to personal in Gwen’s character, but the court stuff was very good and kept me watching. However, it is O.K. to dump The Oval Office. It should have been a movie that ended!!!!

In Contempt was the best show I’ve seen in a long time. Especially on BET. Hands down best show on BET.

Incontemp was a very interesting show dealing with what truly goes on in courts around the world it was entertaining & awake call & ash & castdid a great job,i hope BET bri gs it back or someone else picks it up

In Contempt was a great series! Great acting with fresh faces and awseome story lines. It is so unfortunate how it appears BET can’t keep quality programming. I really hope this isn’t the last of this show, and that another network can run with it!
