CBS has found their new Magnum PI. Deadline reports Jay Hernandez will play the lead in the network’s series reboot pilot.
The original Magnum PI starred Tom Selleck as Thomas Magnum, a private investigator who lives in Hawaii. The cast also included John Hillerman, Roger E. Mosley, and Larry Manetti. The show ran on CBS from 1980 to 1988.
From Justin Lin and Peter Lenkov, the Magnum PI reboot pilot will star Hernandez as “Thomas Magnum, a decorated ex-Navy SEAL who, upon returning home from Afghanistan, repurposes his military skills to become a private investigator.”

The person for Magnum PI? Not so much!! Nothing can match the original series. So probably NO on watching the reboot! You want to make a reboot of Magnum PI but can’t finish the Divergent series?? Really??!!!

No, no, no. There isn’t enough money in the world that would get me to watch a reboot of Magnum. No one can replace the original actors. Sorry guys but won’t be watching this one.
No I will not be watching. There are just some things you don’t mess with and this is one of them
All re-boots are a disaster. Just look at MacGyver. Hollywood has lost all creativity and imagination. Remake, reboot. Just look at the movies: X-Men, Chips, Flatliners, Godzilla, Halloween, Supermen and the endless Mummy movies and can we mention ALL the comic book movies, some are good but seriously, how many Avengers sequels do we need? I will probably watch the first episode, I hope he’s not driving a Prius
I can understand your perception of Hollywood, but I disagree with it to an extent. There are much more scripted shows on today than when Magnum originally aired. The only networks making TV shows were ABC, CBS, and NBC. Fox wasn’t considered a network for another decade or so. HBO and Showtime were showing movies rather than original content. TBS, WGN and other basic cable channels were running syndicated shows (which still accounts for a lot of their content). Magnum is my favorite series of all time. I own all the seasons and I will not watch one episode of this crap. This guy looks about as much like Tom Selleck as he does Higgins. This political correct crap is out of hand. I assume his best friends will be a transgender and a talking dog that flies a helicopter. Very disappointed!
Jay Hernandez as Magnum he doesn’t have the charisma to be Magnum and I hear the Higgins character is going to be female now obviously whoever is making the show don’t have a damn clue what they are doing.

Oh God why? of all the shows to try and reboot why Magnum. I don’t think Jay Hernandez is up to the task of playing Magnum. If you must bring it back why not have Tom Selleck return as an aging Magnum having just retired from the Navy and decides to become a private investigator again. This reboot will be a big fail.
Ridiculous…at least get someone who looks like Magnum not Fez from That’s Seventy Show.
