The Talk is losing another member of its panel ahead of season 11. Marie Osmond is leaving the CBS daytime talk show after just one season. The singer/presenter joined the panel last season to replace Sara Gilbert.
Osmond explained why she is leaving The Talk on CBS and what is next for her.
“One of the highlights of my year at The Talk was working with my dear friend John Redmann, and I’m excited to continue our working relationship on several projects we are developing. Also, my husband and I just dropped our last two kids off at college, we looked at each other, laughed and remembered we hadn’t been this alone together since 1982!! So, at this stage of my life, I’m looking forward to spending more time with him and visiting all the kids/grandkids.”
The Talk’s longtime executive producer and showrunner John Redmann previously left after the 10 seasons. Osmond is working on a new series with ViacomCBS and plans to work with Redmann on the new project.
Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood will host The Talk on their own until a fifth person is added to the panel. A new showrunner will also be named.
What do you think? Are you surprised that Marie Osmond has left The Talk? Who would you want to see on the panel?
Surprised Marie left . They all seemed to get along. A nice compliment of people . Her voice will be missed though others came and left too. They always bring on a new voice. We shall see what this year will bring.
I always felt like the ladies looked “,bored” when Marie would speak..I will miss her greatly..I think Brigitte Neilson would be a great addition.
Bridgette Nelson, she is a good fit I think she fits in with girls. Love to see her on the show.
I think Candace Cameron would be a good fit to the show she’s a very lovely person and she knows all the ladies so I really think they would get along with each other
I think Marie was never excepted
Well by the other woman and especially Osborn
I never thought she looked comfortable with the panel.
Marie wasn’t a good fit she’s a great entertainer but not for a talk show but I adore Sheryl & Sharon they keep it Real & interesting…
Marie was boring.Bought nothing to the show.
She was the only one who brought class an good ethics and dignity to the table. If anyone should go it should be Sheryl. She is too rude and crude with her remarks. You can’t hold up an thong in front of the camera and then talk about your prayers to God.They do not go together. Who really cares about the opinionsof a retired dancer, a rapper, a has been rocker’s wife and a not so funny comidian?
Ruth, you are so right. Sheryl talks out of both sides of her mouth. I am a Christian and it disturbs me how much she contradicts herself about her faith.
Not surprised at all. I fully expected her to leave at the end of the year. She was treated so terrible by Sharon and Sheryl, why would you want to stay?
I totally agree with Gail !
Very disappointed in Marie leaving I can’t say I’m going to stop watching because I really have already I really don’t care for Eve if I see her swing her hair one more time and do that thing with her hands in the air and I know everybody don’t feel the way I do good luck to all the ladies
I’m very disappointed. Losing Chen, Gilbert and Osmond will probably be the end of my watching this show.
I’m so sad that Marie is leaving I only started watching the show when she joined it. I won’t be watching the talk sorry I always felt like she was an outcast I could tell by the way she never said much in any of the discussions I’m so sad to see her go.
She just wasn’t treated very nice at all by Sharon and Sheryl. Who would want to have to deal with that on a daily basis.
I stopped watching the show awhile ago.
Not surprised! It was obvious that she was never accepted into the girls club! I appreciated that she always tried to keep the discussions unbiased. It was frowned upon by the others who had an agenda. I’m sure she will be successful in anything going forward.
Not surprised that Marie is leaving. Always felt like she was not a welcome addition to the group. Personally I like Marie and I’m anxious to find out what she plans to do next.
